I returned mine to the dealer and was eventually told just to slam it for the time being. They said replacement parts weren’t available yet and we would be notified when they were.

Bummer. Try a paintless dent repair outfit. They can work wonders (removed 50+ golfball hail dents on my Dmax, hood is still literally like new).
Yes, this is my current plan. Glad to hear you had success. Thanks!

It is believed that the hood is the reason for many of the trucks built in Jan and Feb being on hold still today. Maybe your truck has the defect and it got accidentally released or the repair was not adequate? When was yours built?

My hood has the same exact issue. When I was doing my walk around prior to completing the paperwork, I popped the hood and couldn’t get it closed, neither could the salesman. He called the service manager and he couldn’t on the first 3 tries, so he just slammed it absurdly hard and it latched. He said you just have to slam it and walked away…..

Mine was one of the February builds that was held in QC for quite some time.

Anybody have a problem with their front hood not closing completely? Mine catches the first latch but not the second. Any quick suggestions on how to remediate?
Just got my Raptor on 4/11/24 (build date 1/17/24) and I have the same issue, it takes a gorilla slam to latch the hood. I also have misalignment of the passenger door which never gets closed all the way w/o a slam. I have an appointment with the Dealership's Bodyshop to make some adjustments.

Same. I only had mine open once but it was hard to get closed again. Had to drop it from a uncomfortable height. I do notice that the panel gap along the passenger side is much wider than on the driver side.
Bingo! Same thing here. Before you let them adjust your latch, make them take it to a reputable body shop to re-align the hood to see if that is the issue. Mine is scheduled for when my j braces come in. Good catch!

I have to drop my hood from about 18" up since pressing it shut to get the second catch to latch like a normal vehicle doesn't work. However, today my entire dash was filled with a hood ajar warning even though the hood was clearly closed and entirely latched. Opening and closing it a couple more times did nothing. One final ditch effort after driving, parking, and messing with the latch/catch and then slamming it again got the warning to go away. I am going to have to adjust the latch and hope that prevents this from happening again.

Good they def need it. I brought the issue up with the dealer when i bought it they of course made it sound like it was normal and perfectly fine.

Thanks so much for this. Looks like the TSB is from 7/29 so they waited long enough to put one out there. Read through it, but I skipped adjusting the rubber stoppers.

After first verifying the hood shackle was already centered in the latch, I adjusted the latch straight up as high as it could go. It had maybe 1/4" to move up. I can now gently push down on the hood to get the second click rather than slamming the hood by dropping it. The hood looks like it is aligning perfectly with the headlights and panels, too. I probably didn't need to pull all of the fasteners and the radiator shroud, but it definitely gave me more room to work in there and visually see what was going on. It was about a 15 minute fix with a couple flatheads to pop the plastic fasteners and an 8mm socket to adjust the latch.

i took mine to the dealer last month and they said it’s ‘normal’. i adjusted the two rubber stoppers on the hood by turning them about 1 1/2 turns inward. made an improvement it so the hood closes by dropping from a lower height, instead of two feet. i’ll try moving the latch later.

Update. Took mine to the dealer, "because it is under warranty", and had the hood adjusted by a reputable body shop, paid for by FoMoCo, and the hood closes good now when I drop it from an acceptable height. They may have or may not have adjusted the latch and the rubber bumpers, but it was free. I'm going to try and adjust the rubber bumpers to see if that helps making it even better. Thanks for all the info about the latch adjusting and bumpers, that helps all of us!
