Hi Hootbro,

It appears you have a 2024 Ranger XL. Would you please tell me if you installed a TBC on it, & how you dealt with issues RangerDangerStranger has identified?

Thank you,

Norm
One of the wires I thought was a data wire, turned out to actually be the brake wire. Confusing because it only worked with a truck running.
with our latest testing, it appears any TBC that will fit the current bronco will work with the 24 ranger if it has the basic tow package. The connector discovered by Helena, disappointed, is a one for one match to the bronco connector for the TBC. Redarc and Techinosha looks like they manufacture compatible units with plug-in pigtails. Should work.

The parts department at our local dealership here in Canada had no luck in getting me a factory brake controller. Eventually, I was tired of waiting so I bought a Curt Echo wireless brake controller. I have only used it a couple of times and so far, it worked every bit as good as the factory brake controller I had in my 2020 F150.
Just looking for update on how the Curt Echo wireless brake controller is working out?

Just to add, I've had a Curt Echo wireless brake controller for 3 years. Used it on my Jeep & now my Ranger. Never had any problem with it. I keep the app open when I'm towing and it stays on as long as I'm using it.

Have used mine on two different trailers without issue. Just make sure bluetooth is turned on in your phone or you will have nothing - learned the hard way - no idea how it got turned off in the first place - second Lippert (Curt) tech I talked to knew right away what the problem was. I put a zip tie around mine just in case the rubber strap decides to go south.

There is a brand new one on Ebay right now for $100 - that's a deal
