I'm confused on Order Scheduling

Hey guys. I keep reading all sorts of different timelines online about ordering a Ranger direct from Ford. Has anyone ordered for 2026 that could give me a rough idea?

Technically, I put my order in for a Ford Ranger XLT two weeks ago on 02May, but was told this week that Ford is no longer going to build the Ranger with a power moonroof and that any build with that add on will be on hold "indefinitely" - so, I opted to alter the order and remove the moonroof. Same order #, update submitted today, so not sure if that reset my space in the queue to today?

Also, I now keep hearing about "Order Banks" where Ford bulk schedules certain models every few weeks/months... what is up with that? When is this next bank for a Ranger?

An order bank is basically the collection of open orders for a particular model. If it is open, orders can be placed by your dealer.

You should probably watch at least the first 5 minutes or so one of Long McArthurs scheduling videos on YouTube to get a feel for how the allocation system works.

Still curious to hear from anyone here who ordered a 2026. Date of order, date VIN assigned, build date, delivery date...

I ordered a 2026 Ranger Raptor on 03-04-2026.
Got confirmation and a VIN 2 or 3 weeks later with an expected build date of 05-04-2026.
Email on 05-04-2026 indicating it was in production.
On 05-05-2026 email stated it was built on 05-04-2026.
Next email was on 05-16-2026 indicating it was shipped with an expected delivery between 05-20-2026 to 05-26-2026.

There's a cycle to what is available. IIRC, Ranger, Raptor and Bronco take turns on the same assembly line.

I placed an order on Saturday, April 11th and was assigned a build date and a VIN on the following Thursday, April 16th for the week of May 25th. I must've gotten lucky timing-wise because it all happened pretty quickly.

I logged in to check my order this morning, and it says In Production already, though that video from Long McArthur Ford makes it seem like they aren't building Rangers this week so I'm not sure why it prematurely says In Production. I don't have a window sticker yet.

I fully realize I am just being impatient. I've got my tonneau cover and running boards picked out for as soon as it makes sense to order them... just waiting to pull the trigger.

Next day update: I have my window sticker now.

Short answer: still waiting.

Long answer that you probably weren't asking for: Waiting is hard. I've been down a bit of a rabbit hole trying to determine if it's being delayed by a QC check or something. My tracker has been showing In Production since 5/29:

In the Mustang forums, a post about order tracking said that once you have a date there, the vehicle is built, and once you have a date in the Built field, that's when it's released to a carrier. Mine said 5/28 initially and then flipped to 5/29 the next day, if I remember right, so that could be true. My truck was only 476th in the build order based on my sticker. Idk.

I've also been watching for the Tear Tag field to populate in the As-Built module data, linked here. My modules have "popped," which means the computers are alive and it should be close to being finished. The Tear Tag field, from what I've read, is one of the last fields to populate as the truck is completed. I'm hoping there's just a delay in how quickly the As-Built data is updated, but I checked a VIN with a blend date of 6/1, and that truck does have a tear tag. Idk.

This morning I messaged the Ford chat (sidenote: they've moved to an AI chatbot now, but if you say "I'd like to speak with a human representative" you can still get through to a person) and they said my truck was "produced" but could not provide any kind of ETA. Idk.

I'm going to wait until the end of the week to decide whether to pester my salesman if there have been no further updates. Until then, idk.

Update for you/anyone from the future that is researching this topic:

I chatted with Ford again this morning, and they confirmed that the Tear Tag is significant and that it will be populated as the final step prior to shipment. When the truck passes final inspections and is cleared for shipping, the plant will transmit the final data packet, which will populate the Tear Tag:

So it seems my truck hasn't passed through final inspection yet, but I also got a delivery estimate from this guy of 6/23-6/29. Let's hope he's right!

For those of you guys who have put orders in recently, how did you negotiate pricing? Did you agree to a number and sign papers honoring that number, regardless of when the truck ultimately gets delivered?

I ordered in May and got the Employee Pricing for All price. However, I'm a bit nervous now for 2 reasons:

1. Sunroof got removed after the pause, so now the numbers have changed but we didn't resign a new bill of sale

2. Found out my salesman left the dealership 2 weeks ago...

I've been told via word of mouth and text that yes, the price will be honored, but it's all so foreign to me compared to how I usually buy a car so curious what you guys' experience was. Thanks!

Nice. Wish I hadn't had to deal with the whole power moonroof debacle - I'm almost tempted to go down to the dealership and get them to resign papers with the new numbers but I'm only 7 weeks away from delivery at this point...

Nonetheless I've got the adjusted number calculated, and the math typed out to show it, along with emails! Here's to hoping it's smooth sailing and they don't pull any funny business

I ordered a 26 XLT 4 April, it was built last week, and will (supposedly) be here 25 Jun - 4 Jul.
By the way...WhereTF is the shipping tracker?!?
There was a link to a site to track rail shipping on the Bronco6g site three years ago.
