This is for people who want to not spend so much money for a hard tonneau cover and dont mind not having brand name stuff.

This is also a sit in top of the rails tonneau, not a flush mount, so if that bothers you, this is also not for you.

I wanted a hard tri fold cover because we are driving ti the carolinas in a few weeks for a wedding and to visit family. Since we are going to be bringing lots of stuff in the bed, i didnt think a soft roll up cover would be secure enough in the hotel parking lots on the trip so i started googling tonneaus.

I noticed how crazy expensive most ranger stuff is, obviously since we all have the new body style and i just dont want to pay that much for something like this since they are cheaper for other trucks so this lead me to investigate truck bed sizes again.

Its hard to find a direct comparison on sizes because alot of places measure in different spots so i decided to chdck into the 5g versus 6g ranger bed sizes since some people have already said they were able to use their 5g tonneaus on their new trucks.

So, since i decided i was going to use a 5g tonneau, i started investigating brands that had good reviews on not only the goods, but also the service/shipping and came across autosaver88, who met all my requirements and thwy even had a listing that said it fit 5g and 6g trucks for a hard trifold.

Perfect.

So, being me, i ordered the tonneau and then a while later, after i got notice it shipped, i asked if it fit? They replied it was only for a 5g but since they had mislabeled their ad, they would like me to try it and if it didnt work out, they would take care of it.

Nice!

So shipping was amazingly fast. I ordered tusday morning and it was here today. Thats fast. It was packaged very well and had no damage. I opwned the box and it even has spare parts in case you break stuff while installing it. Sweet!.

So, i had a birthday party at 6pm and it showed up at 5pm so i couldnt install till afterwards, in the dark. I also was anxious and failed to read the instructions so i put the first two latches together wrong and had to take them apart and redo them, twice, but it went together so amooth and fit like it was made for a 6th gen ranger. And it will even fit a 26 because there is so much adjustment in the latch system.

I will have to get yall more pictures in the day light but here are my excited it fit night shots.

Ive had tonneau cover on 3 previous trucks. All were home made...
I've never had a trifold and wasn't sure I'd like it so I went cheap. High number of great reviews and it was $259 when I bought it.
Edit: 4 previous trucks, one was a soft tonneau with snaps. Actually was my favorite...
But on the RR I felt the tri fold would be more secure.

It looks great, it appears good quality, the latch/clamps line up exactly with the recesses in the bed rail caps, it works perfectly, I couldn't be happier.

Pretty interesting - my son just got a leftover STX and this looks like a great solution. I was going to go with a tri-fold soft cover. Thanks for posting!

I picked up a cheap one from Amazon for $230 an it's about what was shown in the eBay link. the rear corner doesn't match perfect but it seals and works. Looks fine to me for what I paid.

I had a nice flush fit tri fold that had the convenient spring loaded latches that released with a cable. It was fast to open since pulling the cable released it, no need to mess with those hook latches. I don't see myself paying the $1100 it sold for. It was a six foot cover they had accidently sent a guy that needed a five foot cover. It was too heavy to send back so they told him to keep it an I bought it from him for half price. To me it's not worth the difference unless you're in the position that a grand doesn't matter to you an you want a perfect look.

Nope, not the cover itself, not a drop.
After I sealed up the bed and rail caps it's dry in there.

I ordered some 3/8 or half in thick foam for the front to seal it

I am interested in the Leer 650, which i think is the same rigid trifold Ford offers on their accessories site, because it supposedly doesnt leak. Anyone have it and can chime in with their experience?

Its been raining since yesterday and sitting, of course, the bed is dry inside. we took the ranger to get tacos this morning so when we got home, i opened the tailgate to see how much water is back there. There are two little streams on each side leading for those big holes in the bed nearest the cab. The big ones that everyone always talks about filling with something.

So, not bad, just need to put stuff in plastic containers for the trip
