When i got my rear (anti) sway bar, i believe only 2 or 3 manufacturers made one for our trucks. I am a huge fan of having a rear sway bar because of the wind where i live and i like to not lean while turning faster. Anyways, i think eibach, maybe whiteline, and the brand i purchased, superpro were the only ones available. The prices were around 700 for the eibach down to the mid 400s for superpro.

I got lucky and found a US seller who had the superpro ranger rear kit for sale for 394 and shipping was free so i grabbed one. The seller is sohi performance and mike schmitt is who i emailed asking questions to about the kit. He answered quickly and seemed super friendly. He verified they indeed carried those and he had 5 or 6 available.

So here we are, the unwrapping and installing.

The kit comes with brackets, hardware, end links, and the bar. The parts that are steel are nicely powder coated and the hardware is 8.8 and above rated. It seems stainless but i don't know if you can get stainless rated like that. Whatever it is, its nice looking though. The end links are anodized and adjustable.

I started off with just lifting the back and putting jack stands to hold the axle but decided later to remove the wheels. You also want to put your jack under the nose of the diff to keep it from rotating when you loosen the front ubolt to mount your bracket.

Its very easy, and being only 100 degrees today, the install wasn't terrible, though i did take my time and pet the dog a bit while drinking water.

Here is what you see once its all done

This thing seems very nice. My son and i drove down the road for some taco bell and you can feel it when entering driveways and stuff, the stiffer feeling.

Like when i put larger sway bars on my 04 ranger, noticeable change

on today's drive to work i could definitely feel the difference on one specific turn that i take a little fast and the truck normally leans on. it stays more upright. you can also feel the back end is a little stiffer going over speed bumps and stuff

I was wondering if it would improve that, as noticed at highway speed on curves going over heavy seam the ass end kinda hops. Be nice if the sway bar corrected that.

I'm curious if you notice any oversteer during high speed cornering? With no load (or a light load) in the bed, I would suspect the addition of a stabilizer bar might cause oversteer.

@Barry Johnson Through turns, it stays more level but i dont have anywhere with a slightly rough turn to test it out for you. Definitely better for staying flat though.

@VehicleNanny i haven't tried enough high speed in the turn to find out. i will undoubtably find out someday, just haven't yet.

Looks good! I'm the opposite. I typically remove sway bars for they limit suspension travel for off-roading. All depends on ones application.

i was jsut telling my son that exact same thing since the 97 wrangler we just purchased didn't have the sway bars on it and he was asking why it leaned so much in the turns. we have an 03 tj and now a 97 tj, too, so he gets to compare the ride back to back and that was the main thing he noticed. i showed him how the 03 with the 3" lift and big tires had the sways on it still versus the stock 97 with only slightly larger tires did not.

and i told him exactly what you just said, it all depends on the application.
