Instrument Cluster Failed

No real update - Ford still doesnt have the part available so I filed a motor vehicle defect notification with Ford and started the legal process of getting reimbursed or a replacement. They advised that I would likely not be able to receive a replacement due to the demand for the truck.

This blows. Sorry to hear you're dealing with it. While not ideal, have you considered looking for a cluster from a junkyard truck? I believe the Lariat shares the 12" screen so there are likely some available in the states.

Really poor handling of this situation by Ford. Can't really say I'm surprised.

If it’s like the F150, I believe the cluster is a different part number for anything Raptor. Unique hardware/software compared to the normal 12” cluster.

No, I havent considered that and if I didnt have other options at the moment, I would consider it.

Its not over yet, Ford can still make this right, though I dont feel like they are really interested and are certainly taking their time.

I am hoping things turn around. I will be posting a summarization/timeline of all that has happened throughout this whole ordeal when it is wrapped up so other's can be made aware of the Ford Experience.

Yesterday (September 24th), I was contacted by the Service Department unexpectedly and informed that the replacement instrument cluster had finally arrived. So today, I went to pick up the truck. However, just before leaving, I noticed that the odometer had increased from 1094 miles (the mileage when I dropped it off on July 30th) to 1762.

Given this discrepancy, I decided to leave the truck with the service department so they could reach out to Ford Service Engineers for guidance. I believe it's a conversion issue, as 1094 miles roughly translates to 1761 kilometers.

The rollercoaster continues.

I remember seeing a screen when i was setting up my truck on the touch screen that said something about miles or kilometers might be as simple as changing a parameter ! if thats the case you would think they would know that .

This is different than choosing to display the odometer in miles/kilometers from within the trucks settings. The odometer was in miles, just incorrect about how many miles the truck actually has. It should’ve been showing 1094, but was showing 1762.

In your post I understood it as it read 1760 km , after re reading it I see what you are saying . Some one was not paying attention setting it up hope you get it sorted out !!

I bet they have to send it out to a third party shop. I know with FORSCAN and probably any dealership level scan tool, they can only adjust mileage up, not down as they do not want the dealership being tempted to do illegal mileage rollbacks.

By Federal Law, they either have to put a replacement in with same mileage or one at zero miles and slap a sticker label on the left door frame with the vehicle mileage at replacement annotated. The latter you want to avoid.
