Did you follow up with them as far difficulties in installing these brackets, just curious.

I’ll know more on Thursday when I get back in town and pick it up. I’m assuming it went well since they technically got them installed a day earlier than planned.

When you do get them take them to your local trusted mechanic's shop. I went and picked up my braces from my dealers parts department (I ordered them through Parts, don't do that, you won't get Fordpass points that way, order through the Service Department for the Fordpass points or on-line). Anyway, I picked them up, left the lot, drove over to my local mechanic shop and was honest with them about the 192 dollar quote from Ford and told them I was so mad that I needed these for a pickup truck that I didn't want to give Ford anymore money for this issue, and they installed them for me in less than two hours and they only charged me 120.00 instead of the 192.00 quote from Ford. They also said it was super easy and not a "body shop" thing. The clipping of the metal was minimal, the brace seemed very sturdy, they said, and installation was a breeze. They also thanked me for bringing in a brand new vehicle for them to work on, as they usually get the worst of the lot on any given day. lol

That's awesome. I'm not in a rush to get the J-braces done as it will be a while before I add racks. But, I much rather my local guy do it. He's awesome and has taken great care of our cars for over 10 years.

Same, my local Mechanic's shop took good care of my 2010 F 150 during my years with it, and they also take great care of my wife's car and my in-laws cars. Local shops FTW!

I am even seeing posts asking why people can't get the J-braces for the Ranger Raptor on @Ford social media (X posts), asking why people can't get the braces so they can get a @fordperformance truck that can actually do truck things (like add a topper or racks).
Others concerned could also add a post or three there about the subject.
The braces actually should be standard equipment installed as part of the build.
Fortunately, the ones I ordered were waiting at the dealer and installed the night it arrived (they mentioned it took more labor to install than the amount Ford allocates in the price for labor).

I only plan on putting an aftermarket removable rack from Harbor Freight on to carry 2 Kayaks, but Ford is very murky in their wording with their "offroad performance" statement about needing the braces for items installed over the bed and weights over 88lbs. Do I plan on rock crawling to a kayak launch site? No. Did they specify that I won't need them if I am just going down normal roads, dirt roads or a few minor trails to access a lake or river and not a boat landing for two kayaks, no. So, to ensure I am covered under my warranty, alas, they are installed.

"offroad performance" could also be hitting some big speed bumps before noticing them. I consider the cost as part of the truck now.
If we find that Job 2 has them, we know that they should have included them as standard from the factory. I've already done enough whining on the subject.

The Dealership I'm dealing with seems reluctant to even do it, only have a Service Department no Body Shop.
The install at my dealership went smooth. They honored the pricing from the Ford Accessories site and never brought up any possible extra charges. When I spoke to the Service Dept manager he said they always honor the pricing from Ford, and they even honored the install price for my keypad install because I forgot to add it at time of purchase.

I spoke with the Body Shop manager that did the work to see how it went and he said it went well. He said the manual was about 2 inches thick (which made them wonder what they got themselves into) but mostly because it was in 46 different languages and once they found the English section it was down to a handful of pages. He said after they did the first side the second side took no time at all. He was perplexed as to 1) why they would be needed since they didn't seem like they would do a whole lot more than the stock setup and 2) like the rest of us, why Ford wouldn't just have them installed at the factory. He did say they have another install lined up for a couple weeks out so he was glad they got to get one out of the way.

That's awesome! Do you mind if I ask who your dealer is?

Hey to all following this.
I finally got the J brackets installed at the Ford Dealer 7/19/24. Only been waiting since April (Received vehicle on 4/11/24) to get this done for my 2024 Ford Ranger XLT Sport 4x2.
Next up get the cap(topper) installed on Tuesday.
Good luck to others going through this BS from Ford.

My service dealer is Maritime Ford in Manitowoc, WI. I purchased the truck out of state from a different dealership when the RR I reserved with them stalled in QC.
