This should be the instrument cluster trim piece.

It's listed as 60220 on the exploded view. I've got access to Ford's ecat system and that's how I found the actual part number. Retail price is $184 but most online sites have it in the $120s.

Got it thanks. The part # that I was looking at includes a vent ($25) and the trim piece under the cluster ($285) plus the piece you found. Ford parts are screwy. The whole glovebox is about $55. The leather pad is about $280. With a note that says that it is included with the glovebox assembly.
must be nice having access to those diagrams, my friend runs a body shop and they have the ALLDATA system. He printed me out the directions for getting access to the center screen, complete with a list of tools and colored diagrams. He told me about ALLDATA DIY where you can purchase a vehicle by the VIN. Yet another thing not available for our Rangers yet.
Thank you for clearing this up for me.

UPDATE:TOP BOX INSTALLED

So I installed the top box today. Fits perfectly into the XLT dashboard. I'll post the steps i took and some advice for anyone else wanting to do it. But first a couple things.
1. The gray trim is an exact color match for what's on the dash in our XLT.
2.The vent on the Lariat peice is also a match for the vents in the XLT.
3.The leather trim dash peice is plastic welded on and I don't beleive the xlt trim could be swapped without significant modification.
4.There is not(at least that i could see) the wiring for the LED light on the shelf built into the XLT

So here's the steps I took.

1.Remove the plastic honeycomb panel from the dash (hopefully without breaking as many of the clips as I did whoops)

2. There are 4, 7mm bolts along the top of the assembly that have to be removed in order to remove the assembly.

3.Pull out the entire assembly, which is suprisingly easier than pulling out the trim peice. I pulled from the shelf initially then pushed the tabs on the outer side of the vent in and finally pulled the top part out.
1000015422.jpg

This leaves the empty space where the glove box is going to be.

4.carefully line up all the holes in the dash with the poles sticking out of the glove box assembly. Push in all the tabs until it's fully seated.

5. reinstall the two center bolts to the dash with the glove box open.

And the top glove box is installed!! Took me less than an hour with some nylon pry tools and a 7mm ratchet. The leather mix matched with the XLT plastic dash above the steering wheel doesn't particularly bother me and the leather and stitching on the box matches that on the door panels, but be aware of that if it will bother you.

Awesome job man! Did you consider changing the dash panel on the steering side to match the leather?

Now that I know it’s a $130 piece I am going to.

So, how difficult was it to remove the honeycomb panel? Any tips?

Are you talking about this panel to replace the leather? Not sure it is doable at this point. Read my post above.

That is the trim for above the glove box . I bought it and the lariat glove box. I was going to try to replace the Lariat leather the XLT TRIM.
This is the backside of the XLT trim. The side by the pen is closest to the window.

I decided not to guinea pig the XLT trim in place of leather Lariat. I put it in today and I like the look of the leather. Going to order the piece for above the dash next.

Not terribly difficult with a trim pry tool. Just be aware you're probably gonna break a couple clips and maybe bend the edges of the honeycomb panel removing it if you're not careful. Not a big deal if you're putting the new panel in though cause I doubt you'll ever need to put the old one back in

Yeah, I knew where the clips were because I had the new one. Still broke most of them.

Excited to receive my delivery today only to find that one of the 2 long plastic guide pins (best I could describe it) was sticking out of the box and broken off :curse: so I took pictures of everything and contacted Tasca to get a replacement. I can't put it in for a month or more because of winter but still pissed that it was broken. The piece doesn't even fit in the box correctly because of these pins they really needed to use a bigger box. Hopefully noone else that ordered has this same issue.

Below was swiped from the OP post to explain the part that broke. Not my actual broken delivery.

It does suck that the part was damaged, likely could still use it. I think all they do is guide the placement, the clips actually hold it in.
i ordered from Lakeland Ford, the box was plenty roomy for the part. I bought the XLT trim also, Tasca and Levittown wanted $90 to ship both parts. Lakeland was $17
