Appears it may be the same 5 pin connector used on the DRL module.

Got my Blendmount today and installed everything using one of my old mirror taps. Took a while to get the mirror shroud off and had fun with the multimeter. Talk about cramped space.

I found 12v and ground on the drivers side wiring harness shown here (the gray harness, not what my finger looks like it's pointing at):

Unplug the harness and tap wires as follows: WHITE = 12v switched, BLACK/PURPLE STRIPE = Ground.

Plug harness back in, put shroud back in place, install mirror mount (or use suction cup thingy) and enjoy noisy alerts when LEO's shoot radar guns at you unless you're in Mississippi, Virginia, or military bases.

Not sure what I'm going to do for a dash cam. There's no way 2 mirror mounts will fit.
Wondering if that power supply you tapped into can support both a radar detector and a dashcam? I dont own a dashcam yet but when i buy it I want the shock sensor for parking lots etc so it may be a moot point since you mention that the line you used is switched.

Probably? Dash cam's and radar detector's typically draw less than an amp each, so likely just depends how much everything else draws on that circuit. But yes, if you want to run any dash cam with a Park Mode, you'll need a different circuit. It's pretty easy to run the line above the headliner and down the A-pillar into the fuse box to a constant powered circuit using a fuse tap.

Ok so this was very easy. Took maybe 8 minutes to do. Just double checking everything. I have to thank whoever found the switched 12v and G. That's what made it so simple. The shroud was also cake. Thanks for the great tutorial.

And yeah, I know it's an old school detector. It's an homage to the father of radar detection.

I'm new here and I know this thread is old...
I just wanted to say thank you for posting this helped me out with my new Ranger Raptor I purchased last week!
I have one question just how thin is the blendmount compared to the Amazon ones that are similar? My mount is only a few millimeters thick, but it's too thick to use the rearview mirror. The mirror is no longer adjustable...

I've been using a blendmount with 4 different vehicles now. I've never had any issues with being able to maneuver the mirror.

Thanks to the info on this thread installing my radar detector install went smoothly with one caveat.
That being until I get a Blendmount I'm stuck with my radar detector taking up my dashcam area. I have a mount similar to to Blendmount that I've been able to use in three different vehicles. Unfortunately my Raptor's mirror doesn't have a post to mount to. It looks like the mirror just has a ball joint with minimal space...

You can get a skinny blendmount in there, unfortunately only one. I custom spliced two blendmounts together so I could have both my dash cam and radar detector on the mirror. But I'll likely get a Trackform mount and move the radar detector to the dash.
