It always dumbfounds me when people are surprised by their gas mileage when they knew ahead of time what the vehicle was expected to get. Like people see on the window sticker an average of 17 or something and assume they have a magical foot that will get them an average of 23 instead.

I drive about 150 miles/week and I dont care if I get 5mpg in my RR. This thing is a hoot and thats what I got it for.
My windows sticker clearly states an average of 22mpg so 15.7 is a bit of a surprise!

Again, maybe it's just not broken in yet. I am also going to top it off with 91 octane today to see if that helps. I have not filled it since I picked it up from the dealer and I am sure they aren't putting premium fuel in the vehicles prior to delivery.

Thats a different story. Usually it does take a couple tanks for the transmission and ECU to adapt to your driving style. Thats a significant difference though. I didnt mean to come off so "attacking", I didnt realize you didnt have the RR. Reading is fundamental.

Oh I didn't take it that way at all. I'll report back after I have burned through some fuel!

I just completed a 400 mile round trip in my Lariat 4X2. Averaged 26.5 MPG cruising at 70 MPH. The weather ranged from 95+ to 70 with hard rain. 90% was flat interstate driving with only a little in town driving. It makes no sense to me why your Lariat 4X4 would have such low MPG.

I reset the MPG calculator for a fresh start. After doing that and setting the display to show my MPG gauge, I am now getting 20.9 MPG. I have been paying attention to how fast I start off the line, etc. so maybe I did have a heavier foot than I realized! lol

I usually only drive the speed limit or a few over, but I always leave a stop light a little quicker than others. Maybe that is the difference.

I'm not even getting that in my raptor - like 16 highway (my best average shows 15.4) 14ish around town (I do almost all city driving). Just put a bed cover on, I guess we can see how that works.
Same here, my Raptor is consistently in that 15-16 mpg.
Overall 1200 mile average is showing 15.8.

I have hand calculated a couple tanks and same right around 16 mpg.

Anyone breaking in their motor properly for the first thousand miles won't get ideal MPG.

Raptor - first tank of gas 87 octane from dealer. Got about 17.5 all highway. 2nd tank 93 octane all highway and got about 20.5 on that one. Now that I'm back home and on 91 octane getting about 17.5 city/18.5 hwy. Sport mode was around 15.

My first tank turned around a 21.5 MPG with 100% city driving. About 350 miles. Truck had 44 miles on it at pickup, so I put on ~305 of the miles. I did drive it very gently for break-in.

No idea what the dealer put in it for it's first fill or when they did it but it's safe to assuming it was 19+ MPG with 100% city.

I've got around 1500 miles on my lariat and i'm getting around 22mpg. So far it's probably about 80 highway / 20 city.
I have around 1500 miles on my Lariat as well. RWD only and 87 octane and set to normal mode. Getting around 21 mpg here in flat Florida. I think I might try Eco mode on my next tank and see if there is any difference

I break in my vehicles by driving how I normally drive. Never had any issues from that. This way everything learns how to operate on a consistent basis.

Filled up my tank today with 87. Will change to ECO mode tomorrow and try and keep it there for this tank to see if there is a change. Right now in Normal mode I got this . . .

I have been consistently getting 17 MPG, driving 50/50 highway and city in my stock lariat. I don't drive crazy fast or accelerate quickly. My truck has 1800 miles on it and still no change. Mid grade fuel. Has anyone else experienced low gas mileage? or any tips on why mileage is so poor?
I've been getting 18.3 ish. mostly city. I'm still driving pretty easy for the break in period 600 miles.
