I brought home a new 2025 Ranger Lariat 2.7 yesterday, after a couple weeks of agonizing stress over which vehicle to buy. My 2020 Ram 1500 Laramie was getting up there in miles and it was time for something new. I’ve never been brand loyal, so I considered all the options but was very skeptical of the reliability of the other brands. It came down to a Ranger or F150 XLT. I drove the F150 and didn’t like it at all. But the Ranger was a blast! Tons of fun to drive—I felt like I’m driving a go kart!

You all unknowingly made the deal possible, so thanks for that. During the test drive, the transmission did a hard downshift as we approached a stoplight. The salesman brushed it off, saying it would go away. After some research on this forum, I learned of the various transmission quirks and that it just needed to warm up a bit. Hearing your stories put my mind at ease and made the deal possible. I still ended up with an ESP, for the first time ever, but was able to negotiate it down a bit thanks to quotes from the Granger site.

So far, I’m loving the truck (after just a day 😂). Coming from a full size makes me nervous I’ll miss that functionality, but we’ll see. My back was sore after driving it around yesterday but surely there’s a comfy seat position, I just have to find it.

Beautiful ride. My back gets sore on long trips. I think it's the bolster in the seatback. It's adjustable, but not enough for me. I may need to supplement it with an aftermarket bolster.

Very sharp looking truck !
I really love the looks of Lariats with the BAP.

I have full size HD trucks, but I tend to drive my Ranger every day.
I really love the size of the Rangers.

They really are simply fun to drive vehicles.

Welcome to the Forum!

Beautifull truck ! Congrats. Wish i could find the part number for your rims. I dislike my 2024 Lariat's rims. I want the blacked out rims like yours , looks much better.

Nice! I came from a full size truck as well (F-150) and the Ranger really does handle like a go cart in comparison. The only real negative is the much smaller backseat area of the Ranger, have to be more mindful of what stuff I want to keep back there.

I got this part # below from Direct Factory Parts, St. Louis, MO, for the Ford OEM 2024-2025 Lariat Black Appearance Package wheels. They are 18" Black gloss painted, and look like what is on my truck, with the FX4 and black appearance package. You can call (314) 887-2787 and give them your VIN for correct fitment and to make sure they are the black gloss rims.

Wheel, Alloy - Ford, N1WZ-1007-X
