Is it possible to purchase the parts to swap between the rear exit tips and the bashguard tips? Trying to not smash the tips while offroad!
Totally.

We don't offer parts piecemeal to just anyone... Existing customers, with an AWE system, can contact our team to source replacements or get specially prepared for those weekend adventures. I'll send you a PM with some more information.

Hadn’t put tips or resonators on yet. I was just excited to hear it. They dampen/smooth out the sound.

If anyone wants to hear a cold start and some short revs.

This video showed up today on one of the YouTube channels I subscribe to. It seemed to be an easy install and it sounded good, although hard to say how accurate sound can be in a video.

That video also gives good views of the tips.

Just watched Wimya install video.
How does it retain all 4 exhaust modes if one of the valves does nothing?

Mechanically, I'm still trying to figure that out after looking at pictures on the AWE website for a while. It would seem that only one side is being controlled, but since that valve is after the X maybe somehow things still stay balanced??? I know pretty much zero on exhaust design other than "equal length good, ugg". Electrically the dummy valve is probably just turning a servo to make electrical connections to 4 different resistor values so the ADC input to the computer still looks good and doesn't toss any codes.

Hopefully someone with some better design knowledge can chime in, would be some good learning.

I have this exact same question! AWE can you explain this? I bought thinking I had OEM functionality.

It is still similar to oem design, the stock valves would close off both sides but there is a third bypass tube that comes out of the muffler so the exhaust gases still have an outlet. Their design closes one side and the other pipe allows the gases to escape because of the x pipe.. Similar result but different method without needing a third bypass pipe.

If you watch the fabulous fabrication video on their exhaust they explain the stock system and valve position angles. The stock bypass pipe is a little smaller so it’s going to be a little quieter, this one is 3” so going to be louder like everyone has said on their install videos. Not having an bypass would trap too much exhaust and cause too much back pressure and burn out the servos from heat throwing a code.

When we say our system retains factory functionality, we mean you don't lose the ability to switch exhaust modes on the fly or any of the functionality of the valved exhaust. We achieve it with a different design than the factory system.

It is correct that the factory exhaust uses an X-pipe with three pipes, two valves, and a muffler assembly. Our system accomplishes the same valve functionality with a cleaner, more streamlined X-pipe design, dual 3" tubing, and a single valve that follows the factory's control strategy.

From the factory, the valves move through different positions to create a unique sound profile in each drive mode, then open fully under increased throttle input. The AWE system retains that factory-controlled valve behavior while delivering a much more commanding soundtrack throughout the entire valve range. Exhaust profiles and their accompanying valve behavior are controlled exactly as they are from the factory when toggling between Quiet, Normal, Sport, and Baja modes using the center console rotary dial, the MyMode button on the steering wheel, or the Trail Control and Off-Road buttons.

My PMs are always open if you have any additional questions.

I had my installer tuck the tips in as much as possible.
Did you ever get the issue ironed out? Update?
Going to AWE HQ tomorrow so they can take a look at it. Still has a CEL, and does not let me change exhaust modes. I did have one issue over the weekend and it cut power and wouldn’t let me shift past 5th gear. Pulled over and restarted the truck and everything went back to normal.

A bit annoying, I get a notification everyday on my Ford App, telling me to bring to the dealer asap.
