Any good resources to figure out best lighting patterns and use cases? Not necessarily brands, but general lighting setup.

The Baja Designs Lighting Zones article and video is a great start in my option. Ultimately the lighting set up is going to depend heavily on what kind of driving you’re doing
Thanks!

Yea I would say mostly for heavy weather, rural highways with way too many deer, and stuff like seasonal/forest service roads. The headlights are waaaaaay better on this truck vs. my last, but while I do some light off-roading, most of the need is for being in bad winter storms and being in the middle of nowhere.

Here are my thoughts on it…

For spotting deer off to the sides of a roadway I went with two driving pattern lights mounted on the A-Pillar. I angled them out to add to the width of the high beams.

For bad weather or dust you will want to keep the lights below the hood to reduce light bouncing back into your eyes. Think about trying to mitigate the Star Wars light speed effect you’d get when running high beams in snow. For this I would get some fog lights in an amber color and wide/cornering pattern. Mount them low in the bumper. Then if you really need to punch through the dust/snow get some bigger lights something like LP6 or Bigbanger, or SS5. Those should be in driving pattern and also amber. Make sure to mount them below the hood, but probably above or inline with the bumper. When you go to angle the lights make sure the cut off for the light stays below the hood

Yea that's about what I'm thinking setup wise. So many brands/options, will just have to do the research I suppose.

set of ss3 either pro or max power level in amber fog pattern down low for bad weather/rain/snow. a set of ssc2 pro/max or ss3 pro/max on some ditch light brackets aimed as ditch lights for the deer, then if you get a roof rack, or the behind the grill, 30/40" light in a combo driving or spot for the long distance.
