Paint Damage from the Factory (?)

It's hard to explain but this repair is really almost invisible in most lights, and in others looks like a shadow under the door handle that throws you off.

Hit with the right angle of light it's all exposed. Taking to the dealer Monday for body shop repair, they say it's factory damage and not something they did.
Also had two small marks on the rear passenger door that were touched up with a paint pen.

A crazy bright light aimed at the floor in a dark garage exposes the ugly truth.

Welcome to the club, very poor paint jobs on these trucks become a Ford normal across all lines. Looks like the spot was wet sanded and never buffed out. I love the powertrain, however electronic nuisances and paint quality sucks.

Total door repaint I imagine. Common? Only the second or third issue I have seen on this forum.

Mine goes in on the 28th. Small dent with a decent size gouge in the paint, about 1/4" wide by 5" long, between the cab and box. I'm thinking it happened when the box was installed. There's two other spots that need to be repainted "driver side fender and passenger front door". I also noticed that the rear passenger side fender was missing rivets...

Do you have pictures of the damaged area. I had dents on each C pillar and didn't notice until a couple of weeks. Dealer told me no after it leaves the lot. It was either a factory damage or when I took the truck in for a 1,000K/tune oil change.

On the same theme: as an old man I have owned many cars and trucks.
Nothing has ever come near the collection of paint chips that my Raptor has.
The top layer is almost glass hard and brittle, not a good thing on the roads.
