100% agree! I had it on my previous Ranger but the new Lariat came without it. I did not realize it was wireless I will be looking to ad this to my truck. I'm guessing I can buy the pad from the dealer?
You can buy the pad from your dealer, Ford Accessories, or 3rd party, but it has to be programmed by the dealer or someone with FRDS. At least it was that way for the 2024.

Gone are the days of just having 2 sets of keys and ignition sequences or from the infotainment screen.

The fob is so sensitive to setting off the alarm when it’s in my pocket. I was so mad at myself last weekend when I was setting up my rooftop tent at a campsite at 11pm and bumped it setting off the alarm.
Yeah, i have set off the alarm a few times getting into the bed

Like others have stated, it’s very convenient when I don’t want to carry the fob, one less thing in my pocket. I use it almost daily, it’s old tech, but still relevant and useful.

I had a full size 22 Raptor and it’s better integrated on the b-pillar, so I removed mine from the door, painted it black, and attached it to the b-pillar. It’s not as clean as the full size, but IMO looks much better.

I was told they no longer come in color match and are all dealership installed in the Ford original color BLACK.
This is true. 24s were the last year for Rangers (unsure about other trucks) where it would come paint matched.

Really the gas lid doesn't lock on these? Nice one ford
Not that much steeling of gasoline when it's $2.50 US gallon. That's about 0.66 per liter. Besides, it's easier to drill a hole in the tank and drain into a can, especially on trucks

I have a 2025 Ranger Raptor in Shelter Green. When I saw the window sticker online the first time, I noted it had everything I wanted, and something I didn't. The touchpad. I knew it was to be clearly dealer installed and I asked them not to install it after I put the deposit on the truck. They told me they had to because the truck was ordered like that with the option. I didn't spend a lot of time trying to make sense of their logic, I just let it go. It is black and as stated before, sealed (wireless).
I am liking the gas door idea though! I just verified the gas door does not lock with the doors like nearly every other car I have had in recent years.

I had a somewhat similar situation with window air deflectors but was able to have them not installed.

and the dealer did install inside the gas door for me.

i can think of a lot of places where the keypad could be installed that would be better than above the driver door handle

since It will need to be replaced at some point since you can’t change the batteries, I thought the fuel door idea was the best idea

although I’m wondering if some enterprising individual has figured out how to change the battery

The dealer installed a keypad on my new 2024 Ranger. It was part of the deal. This is what it looked like when they returned it to me. Color does not match and the there is space around it; no seal of some sort. First, I am concerned about water getting inside, and second it looks terrible with a color that does not match. Not sure I trust the dealership to make it right. Suggestions?

Door handle looks like it was made by Fisher Price and you're worried about the keypad?

Not trying to kick a hornets nest here, but the asthetics on the Ranger aren't exactly top notch.

Yes, it was disappointing. That is why I moved it to the gas cap.
