PSA: Check your airbox cover!!

I also had a similar issue on my 2.7 XLT. I believe the 2.3 has the same filter. I had a weird feeling to look at my filter after my truck sat for an extended time at the dealer before I took it on a road trip. There are two pressure points at the top and the bottom that squeeze the air filter onto the sealing flange. This one looked to have had the filter media seam installed right at a pressure point. Or it was a bad filter and the glue failed. When I installed a new one I made sure that the seam was nowhere close to the pressure points.

I looked at mine and the air box feels tight, but I can see a tiny sliver of orange from the border of the filter at the rear of the air box. Is yours that way too?

This is the back corner of the airbox on the passenger side - normal to see that orange border of the filter??

/\ yours looks clipped. if you grab that edge by the orange, you cannot pull up on the cover, right?

Mine is the same. I just took the pipes off and this seems completely normal. One way to check is to remove the bottom of the air box and try it outside of the vehicle.

Mine was also popped up, very poor design

It seems that the Raptor airbox is completely different from the other rangers. One is round and the other filter is square. Both designs are flawed it seems.......Mine has screws vs. clips , but good PSA ...........I'm going to check mine tomorrow.
FYI ford is charging $59.99 for a new air filter now. 2 years ago I paid half that price.!!!
