Q? OEM Tie Rod Charactoristics (left and right)

Ford parts break-down shows a single part number for the inner tie rod, but the left and right tie rods have different part numbers and costs.

For those that have removed their OEM RR tie rods, the question is what is the difference between left and right tie rods? The after-market tie rods don't appear to differentiate for left and right.

Probably juat the threads. One has to be reverse threaded so when you twist the link, the wheel moves in or out

there will be a bend or offset in the tie rod for tire clearance on full or partial lock, should be the only difference.

Thanks @nate.co. I see why there are left and right outers now.

I'll have to turn to full lock and see why the outers have an elbow. I'm suspecting it's a clearance thing, but then all the aftermarket tie rods I see are straight.
