2024 Ranger Lariat 2.7 V6 (on order)
Finally picked my Lariat FX4 up from the dealership today. Got to drive the 45 or so miles home from the dealer in northern Colorado and the initial impressions are really positive. You can really feel the difference between the V6 and I4. I was taking it pretty easy but even being soft with the gas pedal, this thing just moves effortlessly. It has really decent road manners for a truck this size. Had to leave for the airport shortly after getting home with it, but I’m looking forward to getting to spend more time driving it this weekend.

Yes, the white looks great--it was my 2nd choice. I ordered silver. Happy to hear that the V6 is living up to your expectations. I have a 21-hour drive home when I pick up mine, so I will be doing MPG calculations to see what kind of gas mileage it gets. Hoping it won't be too much less than the 2.3. I'm a little worried about the break-in period where you aren't supposed to drive at the same speed for too long. I may take some back roads to mix it up a little!

Very nice! That color looks great with the wheels and body accents. How is the V6 treating you?
I have a total of 32 miles on it All in Eco mode.
I like to break them in easy.

Yes, that is definitely the smart approach. I'm worried about driving mine home from St. Louis to Phoenix in a few weeks. I'll try to find some business routes to hit some stop/go traffic. Otherwise, it will be freeway for 21 hours.

Incidentally, there was a recent price increase in the base price that was reflected in the final price. The dealer told me that I was price protected and already subtracted out the increase on the paperwork when I arrived.

Silver is going to look great, I was torn between that or white. I had read on some of the f-150 and bronco forums that people got better gas mileage with the 2.7 using 91 octane fuel. Not sure if the increase of cost per gallon and mpg savings wash out or not, but might at least offer you a little more range per tank if nothing else. Curious to see if it makes any difference!

I will be sure to try all of the octane gas options to see if there are any significant differences in MPGs. 1500 mile road trip should be about 5 fill-ups on the 18 gallon tank.

Yes, I agree that’s a long ride for a new vehicle of any kind. I hope all goes well.

I had not heard of a recent price increase?
I hadn't either. The dealer mentioned it and showed on the paperwork. I didn't much care as it didn't affect my bottom line.

Looks great! I love the looks of a white truck, but drove white company cars for 30 years and had to switch up.

Honestly, I don't think it is a concern with modern engines.
