Would be cool to see it. Other competitors have a hybrid style powertrain either already available in the 4XE or pending release like the all new Tacoma. (Not all new if you ask me, thing still looks the same šŸ˜†)
Only a matter of time Ford offers a hybrid version.
My theory is they wait out the release from its competitors and release their version shortly after with more capabilities.

don't hold your breath waiting. so far they can't even deliver a single production unit to a customer in the most basic body/engine configuration. Does not bode well for the future

Correct me if I am wrong. The Ranger will not be self charging.

Correct me if I am wrong. The Ranger will not be self charging.
It will be a PHEV (Plug-in hybrid EV). This means the battery can be charged by plugging it into a 120 or 240 volt outlet (just like my Escape PHEV). But, a PHEV hybrid also charges the battery by regenerative braking and also by the ICE during normal hybrid driving mode (just like my Escape PHEV).

In fact, my Escape PHEV also has a driving mode that allows you to charge the battery from the ICE while driving (beyond what normal hybrid driving does). The motive behind this charging option is to allow you to significantly increase the SOC (state of charge) of your battery in case you want to drive in EV only mode in the near future. A possible use of this would be driving into a city that might have ICE restrictions. I would expect the Ranger PHEV to also have this option.

Another way that a PHEV Ranger would self charge the battery is when you are using the Pro Power Onboard feature. When the battery's SOC gets low because your Ranger is powering your house because the hurricane took the grid down, your Ranger's ICE will automatically start up and charge the battery.

A Ranger PHEV with Pro Power Onboard is going to be an amazing truck!

So, if I understand your question, the answer is no. The Ranger PHEV's battery is charged in a variety of ways.

I have seen articles pertaining to the introduction of the forthcoming Ranger Hybrid. The articles are targeted to the European market for early 2025, and some articles speculate release for the U.S. market about a year after. Does anyone have insight on the potential of a Hybrid model for USA?

I don't think Ford is going to let the Wrangle 4xE (a PHEV) go unanswered. So, we can expect a Bronco PHEV to be announced sometime in the near future. Given that the Bronco and Ranger share the same platform, I believe a Ranger PHEV will be coming to the USA and the Bronco PHEV and the Ranger PHEV will roll down the MAP assembly line side by side. Obviously, this is speculation and hopeful thinking on my part.

Iā€™m also hoping for a PHEV Ranger ( we also have an Escape PHEV). My gut tells me that not having a US sourced battery that meets the tax credit criteria is part of the reason for not seeing a US version yet.

Nah he's being valid. They promised deliveries would start in September I think. My RRaptor order would have been a tax write-off last year for me if they delivered on time.

Whenever I'm in the market for a hybrid truck next, I'll buy the Tacoma TRD Pro or Trailhunter before pre-ordering a hybrid Ranger. Ford would have to blow my socks off in terms of quality and customer service with maintenance if they want me to pre-order again. If they want to be a luxury brand and charge me more, I need to feel the luxury. These salesman need to be wearing suits at the dealership and a big booty latina needs to offer me granola bars and a carbonated water.

None of your business!
I already own a full EV since last Nov and have plenty of experience and I can tell ya that any "battery" operated vehicle will be a cheap 100k disposable. There'll be no long term reliability with these hybrids either as everything is too reliant of software and a small software glitch will stall the whole vehicle.

I'm holding out for the 2.7L engine and then call it a day. Or get a diesel Jeep Gladiater since they are heavily discounted nowadays to under $45k loaded.

You must have confused me with another poster. This truck has been in the works for 5 years now, and available globally for ~2 years now. Simply follow the timeline of new variant introduction for ROW and add 2 years for best case scenarios of any models possibly making it to North America. That would exclude diesel motor versions that are not suitable for USA models.

I was talking about the 2024 Ranger all together.. not just the Ranger Raptor.. hell I did not even know about the Ranger Raptor existence till like June last year and they announced it to be here this yearā€¦ as for the MS-RTā€¦ who knows if it will come to the USā€¦ only time can tell.. when you said that comment I quoted I was reading it on the fact that none of the 2024 Rangers had shipped yet to the Dealers.
