We used rangers when I worked at base weapons. Also had f350s for towing bombs and missiles to the squadrons.

when i was active duty army, we had chevy s10s as unit trucks. ours was an 88 long bed single cab with the 4.3 and it would smoke the tires at 30mph if you floored it. it also had something like 250k miles on it, ha ha ha. baby blue paint and steelies

In my tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, we bought lots of Ford Rangers for local partner forces. We had some ourselves that we didn't use as tactical vehicles, preferring up-armored hummwv and later we gave a lot of those UAH to local partner forces as well.
We bought the diesel-powered ones, of course.
You'd see them with pintles for machine guns mounted behind the cab.
