Ford just went way too conservative with the standard Ranger. The Raptor looks fantastic, and if they could have just split the difference, the standard Ranger would have been much higher on my list. As it is, I agree with several of the above posters:

(Raptor)
Canyon
Colorado
Tacoma
Ranger
Gladiator
Ridgeline
Gremlin
Pacer
Edsel
Aztek
Frontier

I don’t think it works that way, do to it’s not built yet or have a date. If I cancel it now dealer will lose the allocation. So instead of screwing over my dealer that has took care of me on my Bronco orders and not charging me a deposit or over MSRP. I will let somebody buy it from me or let dealer make money on it.

Nope, they don’t lose the allocation. They just give it to someone else. There’s still time for them to change the specs to suit the next customer. They won’t get screwed. They’d be more screwed by having a truck come in that’s to your specs and having to find someone that may or may not want those spec to sell it to. Much better for them to change the specs now for a customer that’s actually going to take delivery. I know snkrjeff on this forum is looking for an allocation.

I think the ranger raptor looks the best, but the GMC canyon looks very nice too, interiors are more luxurious and the exterior looks cool.

I like the new ranger better than any of the past. The interior is just okay looking and I hate the digital dash. I really think the power and mpgs will be the real balanced selling point. If my F150 is getting 26.5 mpg with the 2.7 over 2 mins and 2 tanks of gas, the ranger has to be getting pretty wild.

I think the GMC is the best of the small trucks in terms of styling and interiors, but the engine just isn't confidence inspiring and the price is high.

As bad as Ford is, I trust them more than GM.

Nissan probably builds the most simple and solid small pickup, but I just can't get past the looks and very cheap interior. The mpgs are pretty mediocre.

I'd consider a 23 Tacoma if the brakes werent drums and the power/mpgs were in a ballpark of passable. 22mpg real world is firmly in poorer side of half ton territory
