Is this a pain for anyone else? Im sure it's supposed to slide under in the back and I struggle to get it secured by how little play and the stupid washer fluid in the way..

Nope. I even jamed a second battery in there. I went in blind, hiping the Australian kit would fit my canadian ranger. but it is one the first ones as part of ford globalization plan. 1 model worldwide, with slight regional differences, Ie: LHD, vs RHD regions.

but your air box looks to be ontop of your coolant reservoir. mine has a whole second truck battery, and i can still open mine and close it no issues

Looking for someone with a Ranger Raptor that can confirm. Im 99% sure it isn't secured right. The back side lifts up too easily

Easy, I replaced mine when brand new with a BCM. You just have to undo the air flow sensor behind the airbox. I forgot to plug mine back in though and got a CEL.😂

I did not think the air filter was different compared to my 2.3 I4 and the 2.7 V6... wow figured it was same as the 2.7 it also being a v6.

I found it difficult to remove and definitely had to disconnect sensor wire.

Replacing cover was also a challenge getting tabs fully seated so clamps could snap shut.

Hoping second time will go better…

I only lifted the cover mine, barely, enough to swap filters. Removing does seem like a PITA if needed.
