My truck uses the fl-910-s filter which is a bit smaller threading then the fl-2127, i just found out when i drained the oil and attempted to thread the new filter on.

Turns out that the ph16 by fram thread hole the 2.3 with fl-910-s filter requirement, though the filter is huge so i dont know if it actually fits with the drain tray.

I have tons of filters in the garage from all the other vwhicles here so i figured since i dont have the one for the truck, might as well investigate alternates while i am sitting here mad about not having the proper filter

The fram outer gasket is 2 and 6/16th at the inner edge and the ph16 is 2 and 7/16th at the inner.

But, it wont thread on with that drain tray on the motor. Just fyi while i am being angry about the damn filters

The fram fd3600 is the same thread area width and diameter, but taller. Gasket is also 2 and 7/16ths at the inside

Now to see if it threads on. No go, different thread pitch or count. Stops almost as soon as it gets going

Yes the 24 is the old style filter. The 25 changed. Dealt with this on my 25 when they hadn’t updated the manual yet for my first oil change. Got a Fram (can’t remember what one) and was like wtf it won’t thread on. Luckily had another vehicle to run and asked for a 24 mustang ecoboost filter and that got me by until I could look into it further. Come to find out it’s the same thread as my FL500 that I had a stash of for my Mustang so now I’m using those.
