Tackform Mount Discoloration

Anyone with Tackform mounts notice the aluminum is starting to become discolored? When installed the aluminum looked OE, now turning brown.

Recently noticed that on mine too. Couldn’t remember if it came that way or not. Doesn’t look bad but doesn’t really match anything.

Mine is 7 months old and looks the same as new. Do you park in the sun a lot? I have my windshield tinted. I wonder if that is saving mine.

On weekends I'm parked outside in the sun, but I always use sun visors, weekdays I'm in the parking garage at work.

I'd still order one, these are amazing, and I don't really see/notice the discoloration, not in line of sight. That said, I have an email to Tackform about this.

Pretty similar to yours - kind of a rootbeer brown. I can take a pic this weekend.

I do leave mine parked outside year round and it gets a lot of sun.

That is a sign of cheap anodizing.

I've definitely observed the same black --> brown (or almost gold) discoloration on other cheaper anodized aluminum items that were exposed to the sun.

I’m pretty sure mine still looks new. And I park out side in the sun all day everyday

Mine has discolored. My truck is parked outside all the time. I like the product and I can live with the change.

Mine hasn't shown any signs of discoloring and my truck spends a lot of time outside (but I'm in Cleveland not Phoenix). To the best of my knowledge I have one of the really early ones they made for our trucks. I wonder if they got a bad batch of parts?

Tackform responded and they're great. They are glad to be made aware and informed me to please let the groups and forum members know they stand behind their product and they'll make it right. The immediately sent a replacement.
