Nice, I been looking for something like this. I didn't like the idea of mounting on top of the central speaker cover.

No and you shouldn't. This mount is what the doctor ordered. It can handle all the weight and look factory at the same time.Nice, I been looking for something like this. I didn't like the idead of mounting on top of the central speaker cover.
I like a company that will admit their own mistakes. Nobody's perfect, but people who realize it and fix it are people you can trust.Great video! Do you have a link to everything you bought for your kit? Didn't see one on your YT videos, but I did like and subscribed!
Amen to that brother!I like a company that will admit their own mistakes. Nobody's perfect, but people who realize it and fix it are people you can trust.
It doesnt block the radio vents. they have a install video on their website, the solid plastic piece i front of the vents is what gets replaced with this mount, just get one of the arms that moves things out of the way. That is a really neat bracket, I like it. Can you comment on reflections in the windshield, are they bothersome? Do you see a lot of the attach arms and such?
I do caution about positioning your stuff directly on top of that big OEM air vent, that provides an escape for the heat generated by the electronics in the center stack, which on a hot day is considerable. I have a Garmin gps positioned slightly forward of the opening, and it got so extremely hot that it shut down and would not reboot for half an hour. I made a 3d printed stand-off that slips over the base of the GPS to allow lots of airflow underneath, that fixed the overheating but it looks a little odd now. I might use this mount instead of my heavy duty windshield suction cup, but my preference is to have any electronic units positioned forward of that vent hole, not projecting aft of it…..
Thanks.

Thanks, that is quite obvious from your excellent video, but you did not answer my question about possible annoying reflections…It doesnt block the radio vents. they have a install video on their website, the solid plastic piece i front of the vents is what gets replaced with this mount, just get one of the arms that moves things out of the way.
For starters, I do not work with or for the company. It is not my video, it is their video. Thanks, that is quite obvious from your excellent video, but you did not answer my question about possible annoying reflections…

Tackform uses a 20mm ball which is smaller than RAM's A size. It's possible there's enough clamp range adjustment on the RAM clamps and/or the Tackform clamps to accommodate the differences but I don't have any thing A size from RAM to test. There are other companies that do make 20mm ball sized components though. The balls they supply, is that a standard size as the Ram Mount balls? OR whats the compatibility with Ram Mount products?
I didn't even see your video. lol I saw a Facebook group post, then their video on their website, then found this thread, He should of however mentioned you in that part of the post instead of replying directly to me.@John E Davies I have not noticed any glare from the track, mount, or any accessories I have so far. The powder coating on the metal parts is all matte/satin finish so low gloss naturally. The only thing that might have some glint to it are the billet blue thumb screws I optioned (the standard ones are molded plastic so again shouldn't glare), but again it hasn't been an issue yet.
As @ShadowDragon24 does note, the mount and bracket itself do not block or affect the infotainment vent themselves. It'd be up to the user to not put electronic devices over the vent or to otherwise shield/deflect the heat coming from the vent. I have since gotten a longer arm for my trailer TPMS display and it is now more forward than the one picture above.
@ShadowDragon24 slight correction from your last post, although Tackform does have their own install video, the one here in this post is my video and I have no affiliation with Tackform.
As for the 67-Design not working, it is the center guide on the bottom of the ball that is too tall. So when it is tightened down, the base does not snug up properly, so it will wiggle.@SurfRanger & @JR007 I too got the email overnight about the potential hardware issue. As I said, I was able to get mine to tighten down and draw down into the rail recesses, but it was definitely a tighter fit than it should have been. Glad to see they're looking into it but I honestly probably won't plan to change mine out since it is functioning as expected.
@JR007 that's interesting that the 67-Design stuff had issues, it may be they use a slightly taller t-nut and it just doesn't quite clear. The Tackform one was able to slide the full length in mine.
@bdallas9 they included a drill bit and guide bushing with the kit that seemed appropriately sized for the self-tapper screws. Definitely don't want to overtighten them though in the dash plastic. It truly is a simple install, just have to be a little careful with the drill not to scratch anything.
If you all have any direct questions please let me know. These photos in the TackForm video are of me and my truck. I’ve been using this mount since march and it’s so well made. The support from TF is not the norm staying on top of feedback and addressing questions super fast.@John E Davies I have not noticed any glare from the track, mount, or any accessories I have so far.
