The XLT is at it again..

Spent the weekend exploring Abraham Lake with a good buddy and his 4Runner. Between the endless views, a few questionable line choices, and the universal “I think it’ll make it” philosophy, we somehow came home with nothing but muddy trucks and good stories.


We even got caught in a proper mountain storm after deciding the beach looked like the perfect campsite… right up until we realized we’d parked just a little too close to the water. Let’s just say there were a few nervous glances at the shoreline every time the rain picked up, wondering if we’d be floating home instead of driving.


Turns out the best mod you can buy is a friend who’s willing to spot you into bad decisions

Edit: after looking at the photos again I think I'd sacrifice my windshield to experience that. Seriously, really nice scenery.

Hah you noticed that did you? Ironically, it didn’t even happen on an overlanding trip. It happened leaving work one day when a coworker chucked a boulder at me.

Ahh good catch, not literal, his tire picked it up and threw it at my window, our yard is very gravelly and we typically just idle through, so it was just bad luck.

Not a ski hill, just a bunch of ATV and off road trails in the area that lead to camping areas. Theres quite a few hiking trails that go up the nearby mountains, but there’s signs posted for no motorized use on them.
