Getting ready to pickup a small travel trailer tomorrow and noticed the 7 way connecter in the truck is installed with the groove facing down where the trailer plugs in - I have never seen this before - is this normal or factory goof up. I am using a CURT ECHO PLUG-In Controller and don't like the fact the door on the CURT controller will now be facing up and not acting as a shield like it would when normally facing down.

I don't have a 7 pin, but I'd say it's normal for Ford. Look at this photo where the 7 pin would go if I had one. probably no way to accidentally put it upside down.

My door folds down on 7 pin and up on 4 pin. Haven' t really had anything plugged into it yet. I will check later calling for 12-15 inches of snow next couple days.

The groove is on the side of the door hinge. The plug locks in with a tab on the door so it can't pull out.
