Yes. It comes out very easy.

My install issue was removing the tie down bracket bolts. One head broke off leaving the bolt in the hole. Still trying to figure out how to get that out.
Exact thing happened to me. Bolt sheared off backing it out and Ford won’t do anything about it.

I work finance for a company that owns 8 steel and iron foundries. Went to one of the sites and maintenance department said they could get the bolt out but probably couldn't save the threads. I will have to figure out a way to brace that new bolt. Not the end of the world but definitely annoying.

Depending which bolts, I was informed by my installer that most of those bolt holes are not threaded. They are self-taping bolts from the factory and that is why they are such a bitch to get out. Took me time and patience as I slowly heated them. Got them all. One stripped the Phillips screw head, and it was out enough where I grabbed it with vice grips and slowly turned it out.
Just go slow and take your time.

Does anyone know of a source for the tip-lock that locks the box to the swing frame? I had one missing, and the internet vendor is not being helpful. If you know of a source please let me know

Call Realtruck. The Ford case is made by them for Ford.

Has anyone seen a generic version of this for sale for the 2024+ yet? They are normally half the price of the branded version.
Those cases are actually generic and made by Realtruck.com for Ford. Although I couldn't find it on their site, you can order direct from them, that's what I did. The passenger side number is SC209-P, I suspect the driver side is SC209-D

Yes ended up going directly to Realtruck as the Ford parts shop I purchased from would not support the effort. Good news is Realtruck replied in a day and is sending me the missing part without any fuss!

My first case install went poorly. Three of the four bolts torx stripped, and one of these broke while removing with vice grips. The broken bolt spun right out after the drill heated it up, so I learned to use heat in the future.
I’ve really enjoyed the case otherwise, so I bought the matching one for the passenger side.

This time i held a pencil torch on each bolt head for a minute before trying to remove. All four came out without difficulty, and this method had the added bonus of not having to fight the spray in bedliner. Heat is the key, ford used a ridiculous amount of blue thread lock on these bolts.
I still replaced em with flange bolts to match the driver side, but could have reused all four.

I’m cleaning up my shop, snapped pics of the bolts before adding to my bolt bucket.

Excessive factory thread lock:

Torch is the solution here.

Mine was an easy install, as Line-X removed all the bolts and tiedowns prior to spraying the bed. The bolts look like they cleaned the threadlock off. I did add some when I mounted the toolbox.

Evidently the bed liner contractor that Ford uses just sprays everything without much prep.

Im about to attempt this install but im curious about these bolts and how that part is done. Are there threaded holes behind there and did you have to remove plastic?

Buying a new truck got me 31,000 MyFord points. There was also 20% off accessories sale going on. I paid like $50 out of my pocket for the Passenger Side Pivot Storage Box. Instal manual said it could be installed with a drop-in bed liner and yeah...kind of? Had to cut out a section with an oscillating multi-tool for it to lay flat, and the main bracket was a pain to get on due to the bracket being a hard right angle being pushed into a curved right angle corner. It basically has to dig into the plastic bed liner, and even then the fit isn't perfect. The bed liner and the pivot case are both genuine Ford parts, so seems like the teams designing each didn't communicate on everything needed to accommodate the brackets. Overall, I'm pleased with this pivoting case!

Yes, they are threaded with 13mm threads.

I have a spray in bed liner. There were two small indentations where the bolts go that I removed.
