I had a very modified Jeep Wrangler Rubicon that I sold for the Ranger. No regrets as my needs have evolved. The one thing you should consider is whether or not you want or need front lockers. If you do, the Ranger Raptor is the only trim level with front lockers.

The bronco wasn't amazing. I had a ‘23 2 door Lux OBX, meh! Love my Ranger Raptor!

I love the bronco looks and thought I was dead set on getting one…until the test drive. The wind noise at highway speeds is just really bad. I could not imagine a long cross country trip in the Bronco

so far, loving my Ranger Raptor.

I thought the acoustics were pretty reasonable, seeing that it is a convertible. I was going to order a 2dr, but the shift to Badlands (goodies I don't need) and the lack of a 2.7 were deal breakers for me.

Just about everything about it is preferable, to me, off-pavement. I just couldn't tolerate that hard top.

I'd never remove it, so it's all that racket and complication for nothing.

I went from a 2 door Bronco with Sasquatch, slight lift and 37's to the RRaptor. The Raptor rides a lot better, is a little more comfortable, has more power, and has more storage than the 2 door without question but isn't as capable in stock form due to the added ground clearance I had on the Bronco for the type of off roading we usually do. I'm sure more experienced drivers will have a different opinion but I'm relatively new to this activity so take that for what it's worth.

That said I have no regrets and would make the same choice again. I will miss safari mode with the soft top when it's not 100 out though.

@ecoope I have had a Bronco (4 door, 2.7 v6, lockers) for a couple of years now. The fact is that I’m ready to trade it for a Ranger. Living with a Bronco is like living with a cartoon car - everything is exaggerated to the point of being a nuisance as a daily driver. The Ranger is way more refined, quieter, gets better fuel economy. Plus I miss having the practicality of a pickup.
Thanks for this. Your comment "Bronco is like living with a cartoon car - everything is exaggerated to the point of being a nuisance as a daily driver" really resonated with me.

Thanks for all the replies. Based on these comments and a lot of reading and thinking, I think a Ranger is the best option for me. I'll want the 2.7L and FX4 package. I really like the black appearance package too. Not necessarily a deal breaker though. The next question, what other dealer options are must-haves?
