Tailgate letters and installed a tap for USB power from the mirror for my dash cam.

That's awesome! How difficult was it to install the plug and what parts did you use?

I blacked out the side fenders chrome XLT emblems. I removed the chrome XLT letters, sanded and painted them matte black.

Did the letters just pop off? What did you use to take them off, just a flathead?

Here ya go. They are pulled up and in. I had a shop throw them on as they did it for free. Will prolly pull them out a little. Also see how I had them on my 21. They do a great job protecting the truck from rocks and door dings too.

I installed the Ford performance air oil separator on my 2.3 eco boost . I had a catch can on my previous 5.0 Mustang and it definitely caught some oil. So I figure better safe than sorry. The only tip I can offer is that you need to take your time when you’re snapping off the orange push on connectors from the factory tubes,Because you have to break them. The scary part is that they are both connected to plastic on each end, so it was a little nerve-racking at the time. I used a panel tool to pop the lower one off and I positioned some wood on the upper connector so I didn’t damage the plastic valve cover.

Loaded ~ 1,700 lbs of mulch for spring freshen up. In case you are interested (center of wheel to edge of fender):

Front = 22"
Rear = 21-1/4"

Installed rough country 3.5 lift on my xlt fx4 and put on 305/70R17s on sasquatch bronco wheels. Only had to trim the wheel well liner.

3k mile first oil change

Reached down from the top and loosened the oil filter with a filter plier because the dang factory tightened that sucker so tight, i couldn't budge it a bit. Once i broke it free, i spun off easily.

Needed a little step stool to be able to reach in because of how tall these trucks are.

Reach in here and you can grab the filter.

After trying with my right hand a few times, i realized its way easier if i use my left.

Old filter came right out and new filter went right in follwing the same path and screwed right in place with no trouble.


Doing the oil on this truck is like doing the oil on the 3.0 v6 in my 04 ranger. You have to snake your arm down a particular way and work the filter out a certain way. No trouble or issues though. All vehicles ow days have those plastic splash shields on the bottom so i already am used to taking those off. So all in all, an easy job.
