On some former Chevy pickups I had toppers. One was an ARE and the other a Leer. My favorite was the ARE. The Leer had quality problems like the one of the two holes drilled for the rear glass mount was shaped like a figure 8. Yeah, it was a double drilled hole. The other was no matter how tight the clamps, the Leer kept moving around and eventually wore away the bed paint at the rear corners.
I only ever had one other topper, and that was back in the late 1980s.

I traded my SUV (Land Rover Defender) for this second Ranger Raptor, largely because I really love driving my RR so much.

I decided to make a Ranger Raptor into more of a high end SUV by adding a topper and bed-rug.

Now with the topper added I have a RR that can accommodate all my SUV needs.
All the while being just as fun to drive as my 24’ model RR.

Almost done with the 35" tire setup. Waiting on a UCA install next week and then will post more... so far so good!

What lift if any? What offset? What tire width 11.50 or 12.50? Any Trimming/remove rear crash bar?

GOAT 2"/1" spacers. I also put in Eibach springs as there was sag from the winch bumper and the Decked drawer in the bed. Wheels are Method 703 in 17x8.5 +35, tires are 315/70/17 K03. Didn't have to remove anything (though the Rival bumper does remove the front crash bars).

The +35 wheels put those tires right at the outer edge of the fenders.

I have my GOAT 2"/1" kit ordered. Looking forward to it.

Love the stance of your truck.

Thanks! I am super happy with it so far. There's a little bit of shimmy when pulling in 4A (but not 2H) that I'm trying to figure out. New UCA showed up and will install that early next week, hopefully a new alignment will help with that, I think with the spacers plus the springs I'm a little farther out than the stock UCA can align. It was definitely a chore getting aligned after the lift.

I put on a stubby antenna, it's right at about 78" tall to the top of that antenna now, which still fits in my garage and the garage I use at work and the airport. Really wanted to still use a garage.

Those tires are definitely wide and I might go narrower next time. Spare tire also fits with the same wheel/tire on it. The truck also fits on the track at the car wash (yes I know I should hand wash it) but just barely and squeaks a lot on the track 😲

I'll post a thread about it once the UCA is in, will have a lot more closeup pics and whatnot.

Nate, you achieved an excellent result with all you have done to your RR.

Question about the springs. Tell more, please. Do you know the OEM spring rate? What did Eibach claim for the the spring you chose?

Aftermarket springs are a mystery to me without objective specifications.

Thanks -- I will caveat all this by saying I don't know what I'm doing but I'm halfway good at following instructions and making it up as I go. I followed the "ultimate guide to lifting your ranger raptor" from @nedmo at GOAT. That RIVAL bumper is great but does put the winch out front of the front axle (not like they had any other choice, nowhere else to put it) and I had noticed additional front dive when braking.

I measured drop from stock height at 1" front and 1.4" rear, and so decided to do springs along with the spacers. Eibach has front and rear springs for the RR, I chose the 1.5" lift front and 1.6" lift rear, they also have a 2.3" front option. For some reason Eibach doesn't list the lift height on the actual page for the rear springs but they list it on search results for a 2024 RR next to each spring.

Measuring hub to fender after the lift, all the math works out. I don't know what the spring rates are but the lift numbers at least worked out and the front end doesn't dive as hard. Hope that helps.

Excellent. Thanks for the links. I hadn't searched for springs just yet--probably due to the not-so-good experience I had with the former '06 Frontier. Those springs were just too heavy and caused harsh top-outs. So, they were quickly removed.

Anyway, I see you are in Colorado and look forward to hearing about some mountain adventures. Also, I'm suspecting you'll make your way into Utah.

Got the truck back Sunday, this build is nearing completion.
The topper is installed, the under coatings done, the sound deadening is done.
Just need to fix the bed liner and start setting up the bed storage stuff I bought for it.
Wrap on the lower doors for the two-tone effect tying into the Raptor fender flairs.
Found a material that is a very close match to the color of the fenders, tinted windows, headlight bezzelels. F150Led perfect fit grill marker lights, rhino bed liner, Bed-rug, Bronco SAS wheels, and Falken Wildpeak P285/70R17 At4W tires.
