Went with these goodies listed below. I didn't do much research on it, it showed up in one of the "deal alert" type emails from Amazon and the reviews were good. Power hook up is easy with the pigtail from Amazon but does need to be modified (see link below) a little bit in order for it to plug into the factory mirror harness. If you want the parking monitor feature to work you do need to add another power harness so it can be powered up with the vehicle off and there is a setting in the camera to adjust when it shuts off to avoid draining the battery down too much.Which dash cam did you go with? I'm looking for one myself.
I completely spaced out on getting pictures of how to remove the trim around the mirror, but it was easy. Not sure I really needed to remove the smaller piece that's closer to mirror before removing the big piece. Pulled down on the back (the sides facing in towards the cab) and worked my way down towards the windshield.
The harness kit included multiple USBC to mini/micro/C cables that are about 6" to 8" long and worked good to reach the cam.
It was a pretty easy install, took less than an hour at a casual pace. There is a bit of extra cable for the rear camera and I just ran that back and forth a little bit in the headliner above the drivers door.
