I am very interetsed in off-roading. I have a ton of track experience but ZERO off-roading. This is my first truck coming out of an M2 Comp. I will join now. Are you in Tampa Bay?
Nice. I used to be a car guy and at the track a ton. No I'm in Jax but the guys that plan most of the runs in that group are from Tampa area I'm pretty sure. Usually in Ocala forest and they are trying to get some good routes in some other places too.

Oh nice. Yeah Sebring was my “home” track for many years and before that most of the tracks out in CA. Raced vintage for a while too. I applied to the group but one of the questions was bizarre. “What’s a Raptor owners favorite coffee shop”?? No idea. lol

Nice I like Sebring. My buddies were down there this past weekend running his LMP3. Huh I don't remember the questions lol. Maybe Starbucks?

A normal 3-ton floor jack works fine for this. A low profile jack helps if the front sits low. Many people use Harbor Freight or similar brands with no issues.

For ramps, basic steel ramps or solid plastic ramps work. Make sure they are rated for the vehicle weight. Put wheel chocks behind the wheels and use your jack stands after lifting.

Keep the ground as level as you can and take it slow.

I think you got your floor jack inquiry answered. As for ramps.....I use Race Ramps for all my vehicles.

Since my RR does not fit in my garage and my Quick Jacks are 5000TL's and my driveway is more than 3 degree's, I'm gonna need to go old school with this girl. So what is everyone using as their prefered floor jack and ramps?

I still have a great set of jack stands so thats all taken care of.
Cheap all metal yellow ramps i got at a garge sale for 5 bucks and a 3 ton harbor freight full size jack

This with a HF 3 ton low profile floor jack is very handy. Works for me on my RR.

I have one of those and I use it a lot with my Daytona jack which is actually not a low profile but works on all my vehicles. I've also removed the pads and screwed on a piece of plywood wrapped in Pig Mat that works for dropping and installing fuel tanks. Used it to install my running boards too.

It can even lift the entire front end of my Sprinter motorhome.

For the ramp solution if you know someone in construction you can make some solid wood blocks, I made mine out of sections of a gluelam and I added a couple 2x8s to the top. You can jack up the vehicle and slide them under the wheels or put it in low range and climb right up on them, maybe using some pieces of 2x to make a bit of a "stair". In the photo below I am using them for added safety as I have the Jeep sitting on 4 stands while I replaced the clutch.

I also made some solid wood ramps out of some leftover dimensional beams, I put enough plywood on the bottom so that the tires are on the plywood before they begin to climb up the ramps, this keeps them from sliding. The plastic ramps work well though for our light trucks as long as you prevent them from sliding. I originally made the heavy wood ones for my heavy work truck which weighed 12,000 lbs.

4) 12K lb. rated plastic ramps are a MASSIVE aid in everything I do in the driveway. Been using them for years for all basic maintenance. Super fast & super stable when you can get the entire vehicle up evenly 6 1/2” all at once just by driving up the ramps. Did my complete Borla exhaust & intercooler & lower charge pipes on my RR using these things. Trans service, t-case service, & both diffs on both my previous F-150 & wife’s Grand Cherokee with these. Gives you tons of room. Feel super safe underneath.

Then when a single corner is needed or just a side for tire rotates I’ve found you can’t go wrong with the Daytona line at HF for the money. HF has truly gotten WAY better in recent years. Their 3 ton jack stands are pretty damn stout and their 3 ton long reach low profile is perfect for getting deep under the vehicle such as the diff pumpkin or shock mounts and the low profile makes it multipurposefull for getting under my son’s low Mazda 3. Just add an extension to the pad to get it up the the RR frame rail. The long handle is thoughtful & rolls smooth. Thing’s a beast!

These 3 things and I haven’t been limited to do anything I didn’t want to and have less than $450 in all of it if you watch the HF sales.

That sounds good. I used to be into cars too and spent time at the track. Jax is not far from Tampa. Ocala Forest is a common spot for runs. It makes sense since there are long roads there. It will be good if they set up routes in other areas as well.

That's what I am seeing as well. I think I will do a Florida Trail Stompers class to get the basics down. This is all new to me. In my former "life" grip and rotation was everything. Now I'm back t square 1. Looking forward to all of it!

I have the 3-ton Badlands jack mounted in the bed of my truck.

It's held down by the HDS Engineering mount:
https://hds-engineering.com/shop/ols/products/badland-jack-mount/v/12001-01-BLC-PWD
Grove Fabworks also makes a mount:
https://grovefabworks.com/shop/ols/products/badland-jack-mount

I also use the Grove Fabworks cover. Even though the Badlands jack has sealed ball bearings , the cover keeps it cleaner than it would otherwise be:
https://grovefabworks.com/shop/ols/products/badland-jack-cover

I recently rotated my tires at the advise of BFGoodrich, due to road noise at 20k miles. The dealer doesn't necessary rotate front left to rear right, front right to rear left and vice versa. I had to use a second floor jack to lift the opposite corners.

I find this wheel dolly to be helpful getting the wheel/tire aligned with the lugs:

Sheesh! just under 1K for all of that. I'll use a regular jack at home and consider a bottle jack for the truck. Also depends on how much on gonna be "out there". Who knows, I may turn into a nomad...

I've thought about getting one of those for large wheel/tires. I've found though that a short pointed shovel with a "D" handle works great if you keep the tire barely off the ground, you can maneuver it around onto the studs pretty easily with the shovel plus I keep a mini version with me for roadside emergencies. Really saves your back.
