What gear is my truck in?

Should my 2024 Ranger XLT have an indicator on the gauge cluster that tells me what gear the truck is in?
If there is I cannot find it. Seems crazy to have a 10 speed and no indicator.

I think if you press the + on the gearshift the display will show what gear you're in (caveat: my truck won't be built for another couple of weeks so I'm just passing on gossip I picked up in another thread).

I tried the click + on the shifter and nothing happened.
I will put it in sport mode tomorrow and see what happens.

That's not right. So, the button on the shifter work like this. in manual mode, ofcourse they change the gears, but in Auto mode, when you first hit the - button, it brings up the display, then as you continue to hit the - button, the trans will lock out grears starting with 10th- 9th- 8th- 7th etc. on every - push. it will restore the gear to operatioinal with every + press, all while displaying the gears, until you reach 10, and with one more + press, the gear display goes away. then with any press of the + or - button, the gear display returns, and shows you what gear your in. If yours doesn't display, that's a error. All models work this way.

You need to be in drive when you click the +. Doing it in reverse, neutral or park will not display anything and in sport it will behave like the post above described.

Yes. I have a 24 xlt and if you press + on the shifter it will display 1-10 alongside bottom of screen

Click the "+" or the "-" and the gear indicator shows up, at least on my Lariat.

The 1-10 numbers will show right under the PRNDM display.

Clicking + works but it goes away when you turn off the truck. So you have to hit + every time if you want it on. On my 2019 F-250 it stays on till you turn it off. Wish the ranger did too...

Clicking "-" on the shifter while in manual mode does the job too.

XLT shows you what gear your in if you press the + on the shifter.
