What happens when the live part of the shock fails?

So the only Raptor I've owned was a 2012 F150 with the non-live valve shocks. My question to the community is what happens in the live valve versions when the "live" part fails? Does it still perform like a regular shock? Or is it a "holy crap, something is broken" feeling?

It'll just act like a regular shock. The live part is just a valve (it's 'live' as the valve is controlled by computers) The shock will proably wear and need replacing before the valve fails though

the 'live valve' is basically making the hole that the fluid in the shock flows through larger or smaller as to increase or decrease stiffness. if the valve were to fail, it would just stop adjusting and it would act as a regular shock... i'm not sure if it would fail in the open position or the last position... meaning it could either ride extremely stiff if it were to fail in the smallest position or like a sedan in the most open position.

Someone could disconnect a shock and see what happens, right?

Mine came disconnected on my drivers rear on an excursion through some really rough gravel. You get a warning on your dash that the system needs maintenance and it rides really firm. Once I found the unplugged shock plugged it back in the warning on the dash went away and the ride became plush again.

If one fails they all go into very rough stiff ride not just the shock that is disconnected.
