I'm planning to purchase a Ranger Lariat 4WD in the near future. As I've used the Build tool on the Ford site, I've wondered what is truly exclusive to the Lariat vs. XLT 4WD with High and Technology packages. With those packages the XLT 4WD is $43,845. The Lariat is $48,760, difference of $4,915. I've used the comparison feature yet it's still not completely clear, with lots of stare and compare. So what exactly would $4,915 get me?

This is what I've been able to determine is exclusive to the Lariat...

- Leather trimmed seats
- 18 inch wheels
- B&O 10 Speaker Stereo System
- LED headlamps
- 12" Gauge display (11 inch on XLT and not as configurable?)
- Intelligent Access and Push Button Start
- Homelink Garage Opener? (I value this but haven't figured out if it's exclusive to Lariat)
- Different Gear Selector (looks cool to me!)
- And I guess I should add the cool painted Lariat badge but this level of difference isn't important to me

What am I missing? Anything not accurate above?

(Btw, I did do a search to see if this has already been posted, but didn't see what I'm looking for.)

I believe you have to get the Lariat to get push button start. Seems crazy that Ford is not making push button start standard on all models.
Yea I was pretty shocked when I found out the xlt even with advanced tech package didn’t at least have push to start. It can park itself and nearly drive itself with little effort but still needs a keyed ignition.

I wished mine stopped at that price. With 2.7 and FX4 plus bedliner and step and I’m at 54k. WTF. Almost Raptor price. How do they fit a Tremor in there if it comes to fruition? I am rethinking my future purchase at this point. My opinion, Ford is shitting the bed with this model pricing.

IMHO Easy they up the price of the Raptor. Remember when a price goes up it never comes down.

Sounds about right. To be honest, I am looking at used F-150’s at this point. Found a few Lariats with less than 24k miles for about the same price. More truck, same or better options, not much difference in MPG. Value for my $$$ will be my deciding factor, new or used. I’m probably going to pull the trigger on something in the next six months or sooner if I find the right deal. Really want to drive a 2.7 Ranger, that’s my sweet spot but I will adjust to whatever is the best value. I can afford a new Ranger but I don’t piss away money, it’s all about value for the $.

- LED headlamps
LED projector headlights on Lariat vs. LED reflectors on XLT. Both better than halogens, for sure.

Also, factor in the cost of replacing those Lariat wheels with something attractive... 😜

I think the heated steering wheel is only Lariat but may be wrong.
