When the SiriusXM Trial Ends... Renew?

My wife and I have called over a dozen times and that 3/99 deal, according to xm, is for older cats and they refused to give it to us for anything newer than I thing 2020. We got it for our 2019 mb and were later denied transferring it to either of our 2025 fords.

That sucks. I had it in my Focus twice, and on my Raptor now. I plan to renew around this time next year, so guess we'll find outif they killed it or just don't like you.

Fingers crossed for you. I do think they made some changes recently because it used to be super easy to get a 90-day trial without even having to call but they closed that loophole earlier this year; maybe they tightened up their deal offerings at the same time.

How many of us renew the SiriusXM subscription?

I've never been a fan of satellite radio for a couple of reasons, but I don't exactly hate it either. I've historically felt that money is better spent for streaming music services that I can access and enjoy elsewhere, and the quality of the streams on SiriusXM is mediocre at best. For example, I've paid for Tidal and listen to it on my phone, in my car through carplay, at home through my Sonos speakers, or in my listening room through Roon and a dac.

With that said, I've actually been listening to a few of the Sirius stations in my ranger because it's convenient to have the stations in my radio presets, instead of going into carplay, launching tidal or apple music apps, and going from there. But to me it still sounds like I'm listening to low quality mp3's, but c'est la vie.

So as my free subscription will soon end I'm finding the marketing spam emails are increasing in frequency. I'm curious how many of us pay for SiriusXM? Of those who subscribe, are there perpetually "deals" to make it worth it? I've seen I think $2/mo for 3 months followed by $10/mo auto renew. Or maybe $5/mo for a year followed by auto-renew of $25/mo for all of their options. To me, $10/mo for their music isn't worth it, $2/mo is a no-brainer, $5/mo is a solid "maybe", but only until the promo runs out.

Skip Sirius coded to the truck, change your subscription over to streaming. It's extremely cheap and doesn't restrict Sirius to just your truck, you stream it off your phone instead.

I stream free from simple radio app on my phone, or my iTunes playlists of thousands of songs. I’m constantly changing playlists.

We’ve subscribed for years but never at full price. A call to retentions and we’ve not paid more than $8/mo. Worth very penny.

Oh yes, have played that game with my wife's XM subscription in her Honda CRV. It's a pain in the a$$ but have saved by doing so.

This is what's advertised on the Ford website for the 2026 RR, and I am fine with the price (but of course less would be better and preferred!), however cashing in on it has been impossible at this point. I have reached out to the dealer again and waiting to hear back. When I was picking up the truck they said they had never sold any of the XM subscriptions and didn't know how to do set it up.

Curious how this worked out for you. I just picked up my truck and would be open to adding Sirius if I could get the 3 yr - $99 or the 5 yr - $125.

I’ve called a number of times and they refuse to honor that offer because our vehicles are too new. I got it for a 7 year old Benz we have but they then refused to transfer the subscription to my Ranger later because they said it didn’t qualify.

I used to be a big fan of Sirius but not so much anymore. The stations I enjoyed listening to had gotten repetitive. I wasn't listening to it much anymore so I let it drop.
I just stream through Spotify and Pandora.

I was able toget for $3.18 for 3 or 4 years I forget for my wifes car. But try as I may they won't go lower that $5 for my Ranger. Oh well I have a USB drive full of tunes.
