Who will order without seeing in person and test driving first?

I've always been pretty practical and never bought a car site unseen. I had a '21 5G Ranger and I loved it. It was bit outdated interior and tech but I liked how it drove. I figure the new Ranger will be that but better. I'm also trying to get a Raptor and the only way to land one is site unseen. Like someone else mentioned, if I don't like it, I could always sell it very easily. It's my dream truck though and based on other reviews, I don't think driving it will change my mind.

I feel like I've watched enough videos of ROW Raptor reviews and ownership experience that it's more than enough compared to anything I would get in a 15 minute test drive. And to add, I doubt any dealer will let you test drive a Raptor on their lot.

I one time asked to test drive a TRD Pro, and they laughed me out the door. They were like you can sit in it and test drive an SR5. And as we know, I didn't end up buying one.
For me a lot is ergonomic fit for my body comfort. I can’t remember ever feeling like a Toyota could be a comfortable daily driver (forget about road trips!) since they replaced the Hilux from the 1980s. Also step in height to cab and bed. I have a F-150 that requires side steps and too high to load motorcycles safely by myself these days 😕

Also have my Maverick that is the right height and good daily driver, but the Crew cab and tiny bed doesn’t fit my needs on daily basis. I’m looking for the mid size sweet spot with Super Cab + 6’ bed and minimal technology as my long term solution. Right now that’s pointing me towards Nissan King cab. Will likely buy one and keep watching Ranger full lineup roll out over next 1-2 years to see if I can get comparable or better solution for a long term keeper.

I considered it but with interest rates and supply chains both being a mess I'm just waiting. As much as I want a new vehicle, I don't need one badly enough to go against all these red flags.
Interest rates aren't coming back down, if anything they will continue to increase a bit. Waiting won't accomplish much except paying more later.

Its part of what we do.. Ill be honest most trucks all drive the same any more.. I look to see how the lay out works for my life and even that is nearly the same in every brand

I have never been adventurous enough to buy a vehicle sight unseen. Maybe old fashioned, but just wired that way. Sometimes causes me to miss out, but don't think I've ever had buyer's remorse buying new this way. Too much analysis leads to paralysis; hate the nagging feeling I could have gotten it right if only...
I test drove a 2019 Ranger at the Chicago Auto show and bought one. I have absolutely no worries about ordering a Raptor I have not seen (less hundred plus pictures) or driven. I am pretty sure should I get one (ordered the one my dealer will get someday - to "stock" but my specs) that I will be able to sell it for more than I pay for it easily.

probably not. but i want to make sure the next-gen release goes smooth and i don't commit to a truck before I know I will enjoy it.

Since the 2.7tt will be late availability may be the dealer will have a Ranger but not with a V6.
I would order without a test drive. I purchased my F150 without a test drive.

Me.

I'll add the RR is replacing the '03 Dodge Dakota beater workhorse that has no frills whatsoever, so the bar is pretty low. I'm also doing the same with my '15 Gixxer for a new one, which I also bought without seeing in person or test riding.

When it comes down to it, you can always walk away if there's something you don't like.

Take a look at the Chevy Colorado Trail Boss.... or Wait for the new Tacoma - so many choices coming along.

GM twins only come in Crew Cab + short bed configuration. I already have that in my Maverick. Ditto the 4cyl turbo motor. That's not an upgrade that works for me. Toyotas are overpriced based on past reputation and no reason to expect they changed their approach to driving position ergonomics. Not interested in them at all. They have also been playing the game of not letting you custom order a vehicle in a configuration you want- another strike.

Best option immediately available is still the Frontier King Cab S. I'm just waiting for them to have some year-end sales or incentives to move inventory on lots to compensate for that ridiculous ADM they all have tacked on there currently- and totally unjustified.

My dealer is not and has not charged me an ADM. My first Maverick was a clean sale. The same dealer states my Ranger will also be a clean sale at or below MSRP ( with the $1,000) incentive

My recent comments here have been about what vehicle configuration works best for me to consider it an upgrade from my Maverick, and it looks Frontier is the only 1 currently available on dealer lots to drive before buying. I did not say anything about ADM on Maverick. Mine was MSRP no surprises too. I said the NISSAN Frontier I want to buy has ADM tacked on and is not justified.

yeah, I pre-ordered an XL with a bed and tow package + rear diff lock options. Just wanted to cover my bases in case sales went crazy and use the $750 incentive Ford sent me that was to expire July 5th. Now we know (non Raptor) sales are lukewarm and no danger of not being able to order at a later date if/when the SCab + 6' bed configuration option comes back. Also seeing the exact same thing happening with delayed production start, pause on scheduling- that happened with my Maverick purchase I went and cancelled my order.
