So if you leave your key in the vehicle and lock it with this keypad option and someone breaks into your car - what keeps them from driving off with it if they locate your keyfob ?

Can we get a confirmation on that ?From my understanding it is supposed to disable the key fob until the keypad is used to unlock the vehicle
Oh.Sorry. Guy at the parts counter at the dealership told me the ones that come with the truck from the factory are painted to match body color and hard wired and cannot be ordered. I found that to be a little suspicious but went with it any way...My badNo Ranger is hard wired you ordered same unit just not body color.
I tried locking by keypad with the keys in the truck, left window down and opened door thru the window. No alarm went off and I could start the truck. In my CTS-V, if I open the door thru the window with locked doors, the alarm goes off. So maybe the truck knows the window is down but I kind of doubt it.Can we get a confirmation on that ?
And occasionally, the app even works when you need it to...Ford pass is free there is no annual fee for it.
