Windshield Distortion

My Ranger Raptor came in yesterday and I passed on it because the windshield has a defiant fishbowl distortion on the right side when making a right-hand turn. I was also not as impressed with the truck for the price even though all the hype says it is the greatest thing on four wheels. My opinion might change when they have a line of them with 3 to 5k off which I am sure will by the end of the summer. It was definitely a letdown after almost a year wait.

Not sure why this was moved I never purchased the Truck and was asking if All 2024 Rangers have this distortion in the windshield.

Nope, not on mine. Seems like a small thing to pass up on a RR. What a shame.

As for your 3 to 5k off theory. Perhaps by year 3, I would agree. By then the MSRP will have gone up and they will price is down. Also depends on your market. As you live in Georgia maybe you will see them at MSRP more often. In other markets, I still see ADM attach until beginning of next year.

Again, that's just a theory, a cherry theory.

I noticed something on the right side of my windshield also. A little wavy in a small spot but yeah, definitely not something to pass on a Ranger Raptor for sure !

To understand the hype, you have to actually drive it off road. Going 80mph on a dirt road in baja mode will make it all make sense.

Well all of the RR in Georgia that I have seen are at MSRP. Not interested in buying a 60K truck and having to put a new windshield in it the first week.

I would totally agree with that but for normal street driving an F-150 Raptor feels much better to me.

Very happy with my Ranger raptor. Drives and rides great, and perfect size for maneuvering in town.

The f150 raptor has lost its luster. My dealer can't give them away. Way too big for practical use and those wanting a unique vehicle step up to a R.

I had a f150 raptor and would never go that route again. If I did I'd get a R or forget it. A Tremor is a better pkg for everyday use and isn't so oversized and impractical.

No issues with my windshield or anything else. Further the windshield would've been covered by warranty so that's a unnecessary reason to pass on it. But hey, your decision and you've made someone else's day.

Sticker shock huh. Go price a trd pro that isn't even as refined as the Raptor.

It's a great value for its price, especially with a trd pro over $66k now.

But that's why they make different vehicles. Someone's gonna really love you for passing as they'll get to buy a terrific truck.

I'd agree on the hwy as it's a roomier truck with a bigger wheelbase. But for around town and parking, not a chance. And one fits easily in a garage and the other doesn't.

Nope passed on the RR and considering a F-150 Raptor that drives good and can be purchased at a discount and can pick from 16 on the lot.
Well all of the RR in Georgia that I have seen are at MSRP. Not interested in buying a 60K truck and having to put a new windshield in it the first week.
So you were saying at first that the ranger raptors are going to be 3k to 5k less by this summer, lined up at the dealer lot and you might have a change of opinion then. That's your quote.

Also that you would absolutely not be buying a $60,000 truck with a windshield that needs replacing. Yet it was under warranty, which comes no cost to you.

Now you're saying that you will be getting an F150 Raptor because it drive good and can be purchased at a discount.

I'm factoring that you like something around 55k. From what you said above.

And we are looking for a new F150 Raptor on the lot as they have 16 + available, lined up and discounted as you stated. You live in Georgia, so I'm going to put you in the middle and say you live in Macon.

I'm only seeing F150 Raptors at $76,000+. This is with their already discounted price you are saying. Georgia has a 7% tax and you'll be paying over $80,000+ for a new F150 Raptor.

I mean you could just tell us the real reason why you didn't get the Ranger Raptor. This windshield having a distortion just seems like a masked excuse for the real reason.
Almost as if you're trying to tell us without telling us. 🙂
We can all tell that you do like your discounts.

Hey but that's just a theory, a cherry theory.

Mine has the distortion as well but I’d wager 90% of vehicles on the road today have it too it just hasn’t been noticed. Gotta remember that glass is susceptible to stretching while it’s still warm which I’d bet is what happened to mine and OPs and all the other vehicles out there. Hell my Volvo XC40 has a literally spot on the driver side windshield that makes it look like a magnifying glass . Doesn’t affect how the vehicle drives just how my mind works which is something that can be changed for free
