Not sure if this is an issue or just the way it is designed, but on my Ranger Raptor I cannot fully raise the wiper arms. On the passenger side it barely comes up at all as the hood blocks it. Is this "normal"? On my 07 F-150 both arms come all the way up, makes it super easy to wash the windshield and to replace the blades.

I ran into the same problem while washing my truck. You can pull the wipers up a little (like they are sweeping the window) and then they stand up like other wipers do.

From the owner's manual:

Do not manually move the wiper arms for
service activities.
Note: For vehicles with a service position,
make sure the windshield wipers are in this
position before proceeding. To place the
wiper arms in a service position, switch your
vehicle on in accessory mode, switch on the
wipers and switch your vehicle off when the
wipers are at their highest position.

I was kind of afraid of that but I don't think I did any damage. Pretty stupid way to have to do it.

Thanks for sharing, I wondered same when I washed the truck. I have never had to take these extra steps before for any of my vehicles. Good to know.

Ive always stood my wipers up when it was possible the blades would freeze to the glass.
what will happen if i auto start when the wipers are put up in this position as per the manual?

They will rotate and hit the hood possibly damaging the arm and the hood.

For NA Rangers, the wipers do not re-engage with remote start. They do not move until ignition/start button is pressed to move out of accessory mode. This is true for intermittent and both full on speeds from the stalk.
