So I’m in a Facebook group for the Raptor Ranger and someone who claims they can give me an order at MSRP says the RR isn’t an allocated vehicle. He claims that he can put in as many orders as he wants. Is this guy full of it? He’s from the Boston Region.

The two dealers I spoke to said they were an allocated vehicle.

My dealer has my Raptor as a stock order. Will this delay my order? Should he change it to retail or does it matter? Ford seemed to give confusing direction early on about stock vs retail on the Rangers.

Mine was a stock order as well and I got a build date so it's kind of all over the place.

My dealer gave me the same impression. I don't particularly believe anything a dealer tells me however.

Mine is a was a stock order and they changed it to a retail order. The dealer said that they only have one allocation and that's the one they ordered for me.

A dealer can put in 1000 Raptor orders a day into the bank. But the dealer needs allocations for their orders to be built. If a dealer has 20 Raptor orders in their bank, but they only get 5 allocations for 2024, 15 people are SOL and will get pushed to 2025.

He’s right. There are no allocations for orders. He can put in as many as he wants. But there are allocations for production. So those dozens of orders he put in will be sitting there waiting to be scheduled for a long time. Don’t give this dude your money.

Each dealer is being allocated one Raptor to begin with. This does not mean they can't order more and sometime far in the future they may earn allocation of additional units based on their sales numbers at which time these additional units might be pulled to be built. But.. no dealer knows if or when they will earn the additional allocation.

It's likely no additional raptors, beyond the initial one guaranteed allocation, will be built or available until mid next year at the very earliest. And the strike is only pushing this back further, everyday.

A dealer not telling you the above is not being honest with you.

Not sure it's this straight forward. Some dealers can be issued additional allocations for a number of reasons. I'm with you on the timing though. Next summer is when I am expecting mine.

My dealer said they had one allocated and can order as many as he wanted. However my understand is the allocations are build first then the customer orders will follow. I’m sure the priority numbers and the dealer size will have some effect on the. Hilda order. At the end of the day we ordered next year’s model so I don’t expect mine until next year. The Dealer promised mine sometime between Sept 2023 and Sept 2024. BTW I’m paying MSRP. I’m not 100% that I’ll take mine the inability to flat tow is an issue, purchasing a Car trailer would be a work around but towing using the Raptor doesn’t work. Im In no hurry and a F250 May be a better fit.

Just to confirm, if you sign on the dotted line for a 2024 but get pushed to 2025, you're paying 2024 MSRP right?

There's a lot of people buying a Raptor for the sake of a Raptor and aren't pressed to have a new car so the waiting game isn't as critical.

There is no price protection on a Raptor.
