That would have been better in my opinion. Is there any indication the 2.7 will have an alternative gear ratio to 3.73? 3.55 maybe?

According to fords MY24 Ranger technical specifications document, it appears all is the same regardless of engine choice - 3.73:1 final drive rear axle ratio. Sorta surprised me, I figured there would be a difference. Is there any indication the 2.7 will have an alternative gear ratio to 3.73? 3.55 maybe?
Interesting. I hope it gets added later.According to fords MY24 Ranger technical specifications document, it appears all is the same regardless of engine choice - 3.73:1 final drive rear axle ratio. Sorta surprised me, I figured there would be a difference.

I hope thats not the case. Although Ford is know for changing things all of a sudden. Have no idea if this marketing material is new, outdated or what, but it shows 2.7L available in either 4x2 or 4x4. Hope Ford doesn't bust my bubble on a 2.7L 4x2, guess there's always hope at this pointThe only thing indicated differently with the 2.7l is that it is only available with 4x4.
Interesting! The towing guide/builders guides made it look like the 2.7l was 4x4 only, granted those 2 things were pretty old, and it was discussed many months ago.I hope thats not the case. I agree with you on the 3.55 gear ratio 100% but I don't think Ford provides for any changes or options for the gear ratio in the Ranger like they do in F150. Sorta ashame, I think the 3.55 would provide better mileage than the 3.73I have the 2.7 engine with 3.55 gearing in my 2022 F150 Supercab 4x4 and like that combination, it has more than enough power yet gets good gas mileage so can't imagine needing the 3.73 gearing in the lighter Ranger. It will be a rocket ship. If I had the choice in the Ranger I would chose the 3.55 gearing.
Well we didn't need to stand by them - there are other auto companies - like Toyota and Nissan (Notice I didn't mention any other American brand that just went on strike to rightfully fight for a living wage )Ford failed before the strike.... and the strike has been over for months...... And It's been longer since the strike ended than, than the strike went on for.
So no, I blame their ever so "never wrong" management team who had such great ideals like prioritizing an electric F-150 that has the range of a potato, or when they thought that canceling the Ford Ranger was a great idea and everyone would just buy F-150's or when they though let's just demolish the Ford Ranger plant in St. Paul...... Ya, Ford management is filled with shit Ideas and poor executions.
