I'm looking to order a 2.7 Lariat but I'd really like to not have it delivered until like feb/march if possible. Just wondering if I ordered now would that be likely? A lot of people are getting build dates this year, but then I also see a lot of people that have built trucks but have been waiting a long time for shipping.

Also is there any way to order the little rub strips on the fenders to be body color on the lariat with sport? If you order it with Chrome package they are body color but if you order sport they are black or the dark gray or whatever. Wondering if the dealer can do something?

Not sure about the fender flare question, but to your production/delivery of the 2.7L question, many of us have build dates for August, with some orders being placed as early as early May, or as late as June 10th (for my build). I would suggest you find a dealer who will sell below MSRP and lock in your build. There should be plenty of days left for potential build weeks before the 25s start to be built. I went with a Dealership in Sullivan, Missouri (near St. Louis) because they offered the best price, even with travel to/from Phoenix. Might be worth your time to check them out:

Wheel well opening trim only comes in body color with the chrome package. Removing and painting is your only option if you don't want the chrome.
I'm old, I don't mind the chrome.

My 23 Lariat and 22 both had the wheel opening moldings painted body color, I liked that immensely over the dark grey that comes with the 24 lariat. But, if you order the chrome package the wheel opening moldings are body color, that did it for me, I am really done with all the black murdered out look, a bit of chrome really brightens up my Iconic Silver Lariat. and especially the raw black plastic wheel opening moldings on the lower trim levels are the worst!

Does below MSRP matter if you have X plan pricing? we're already saving like 2k or so with x plan pricing through my wifes work stuff.

I honestly don't mind getting a 2025, 6+ months would be ideal for us to let our credit creep up some more and build up a down payment.

Yes it matters. XPlan would be on top of your negotiated price. I also have the XPlan. It’s my understanding that Ford pays the XPlan cost to the dealership so they can sell above, at or below MSRP.

Ah ok, well then a couple more questions lol. Does that dealer require a big deposit? And also how does that work with taxes being out of state. Does Missouri make you pay sales tax there? And then I have to pay them when I get back to Ohio too?

Edit: Oh never mind on the sales tax, apparently that is paid to the state you register it in. So that shouldn't matter.

Getting a Ranger to be delivered in Feb/March would mean you would need to wait and order a 2025 model year Ranger. They will be switching over from 24MY to 25MY production this fall. Typical timeframe for delivery should be about 3-4 months depending on the dealer (look for a dealer that gets allocations). Beginning of the model year can be delayed maybe a month for quality checks.

If you are looking at the 24MY delivery times, it will be different for 25MY. They were very slow to release the 24MY to make sure quality was right to reduce the amount of recalls on the next gen Ranger.

In reference to the wheel lip molding, Ford will build them as the order guide states. Sport Package is standard and gets Carbonized Gray wheel lip molding, Chrome Appearance Package will get Body Color Wheel Lip Moldings. A dealer could have their body shop take them off and paint them at a price.

Well I got response back from Shanna

Ford Ranger Looking to order a Lariat 2.7 1720054666477-5u

Not entirely sure what the J-Brace recall is, the only thing I can find is an aftermarket part to stiffen the bed so it can support more weight.

The Ford recall look-up reveals zero recalls on the '24 Ranger. It's possible the dealer has inside information on a possible running change involving the J-braces and want to hold off until it's confirmed. It was posted on the forum that one member had his dealership refuse to install them. They weren't comfortable with sawing off the corners on the box to facilitate the installation.

So maybe they are just installing them at the factory now then?

X-plan or any of the other derivatives is a pre-negotiated price depending on your level. It's not stackable with other discounts and you are supposed to declare you are X-plan from the outset or the dealer has the right to refuse it. Sometimes you can get a deeper discount than X-plan - had that with my daughters Bronco Sport. If you have X-plan, they shouldn't be selling it above MSRP, ever.

What Is Ford Partner Recognition (X-Plan) Pricing?
Partner Recognition pricing is a special pre-determined price, which is based on the following: Ford Employee (A-Plan) price plus 4% plus $150.

To be a bit more specific, program plan pricing is stackable with Ford incentives but not typically stackable with dealer incentives or dealer sales. If Ford is offering lower financing or discounts, then those discounts can typically be applied (unless plan pricing is excluded in the incentive terms and conditions). About the only time you’ll get a price better than a program price without Ford offered customer incentives is if Ford is offering the dealer a dealer incentive to move the inventory (like a model year transition).
