The rear seat in my 2024 Ranger XLT does not latch. If I screw around enough by pushing in different places I can get it to latch. Has anyone else had this problem?

Yeah, have to hit it like it owes you money. Found that out putting in a child car seat.

Mine was also hard to latch, someone on this forum had mentioned to raise the center head rest up about an inch or so. The way the polls are bent it prevents the seat back from latching when the head rest is all the way down. That solved the problem for me.

Yes, the middle seat. It's on a long list of things the need fixing from the factory and shortly thereafter.

Slamming it a little harder is working.

Careful with slamming it, as mentioned by Bob H, there was a bracket on mine interfering with the headrest leg and it punched a hole in the back seat carpet. Once the interfering bracket was moved, it latches OK. Ford will be replacing my seat back carpet under warranty.

Maybe they missed the lock washers on the latch bar plate? Well I think they have a bunch of them at the hardware store. :) Thanks.

This Ford SSM popped up today on Oasis:

That was timely. My Ranger goes in to the Ford body shop Thursday for several issues: rear seatback hard to latch, left rear door hard to latch and sits low, hood hard to latch and sits low and rattle of the plastic panel under the fuel tank.

This is a common issue. Remove the latch bar, slip on a couple washers behind the latch bar plate and thread it back in. The washers should push out the latch bar out enough so the receiver can snap onto it. Good luck.
The washers worked for me. Thanks.

I put lock washers behind the bracket.

My left rear door doesn't close unless I close it hard. But this only happens when all the other doors and windows are closed so I am wondering if this is because the truck is sealed up when everything is closed. I will be interested to know how your body shop visit comes out. I have to take my ranger in for a window software upgrade in a couple of weeks so maybe I need to be thinking about adding some other fixes they can do that day.
