Lexus would be gone in a heartbeat. I ditched my Bronco Badlands to go to my Raptor. That GT350 will be worth more and be more collectable than the Lexus ever will be

My work is done here.Man, am I glad that you replied to my post.
I love the Shelby but lately with how little I drive the car it’s felt like a waste. But, I just know that if I let it go I would regret it significantly and your post validates that. I could use the money but why sell it just for the heck of it…the only car note would be the RR. I can swing it, at least for now, so it looks like I’ll be replacing the Lexus with the RR and keeping the Shelby.
Thanks! I just hope the Shelby treats me well and no unexpected repairs come forth. My work is done here.
(I still have a set of new wheels and tires that never made it onto the Shelby for a track day and I die a little inside every time I walk into the storage unit and see them)
The Ranger Raptor is the more practical vehicle compared to the Shelby.I would love to have all three but I’m not sure I could manage that financially or if it would be wise.
What makes this so difficult is that I love both the Lexus and the Shelby. And as much as I love the Shelby…I barely drive it…and with a kiddo idk if I’ll drive it any more than I do now. Also was trying to capitalize on its value but it’s just such a special car that idk if I can let it go. Lexus is such a comfortable daily with good performance that it’s also gonna be difficult to see it go. The RR is really messing me up here haha
I really lucked out in that regard. The dealer had ordered one months before I showed up and short of the graphics package and bedliner, it was pretty much how I would have spec'd it. Offered me decent money for the Shelby and the Colorado, saved me dealing with selling either privately, which I tried to do initially. Thanks! I just hope the Shelby treats me well and no unexpected repairs come forth.
I also pray that my RR order gets picked up. It’s been a month and no build date yet…seems like the dealer didn’t have an allocation like they led me to believe…
your wife has an SUV so I'd trade both the Mustang and IS350 for and ISF might find a nice certified oneI pretty much decided im going to get a Ranger Raptor. I own two vehicles right now and don’t know which one to give up or if they both should go.
Current Garage:
-2019 Shelby GT350
-2023 Lexus IS350
For context:
-My wife and I are expecting a baby soon. She has an SUV.
-Best case scenario I can only keep two, worst case scenario one.
-I value a comfortable daily commuter but I enjoy performance and sporty driving.
-Looking for more utility considering a child is on the way, something for home depot trips, or something to throw bikes into and go for a trip.
-Looking for a perfect blend of performance and utility.
I think I already know what I have to do but I’m looking to see what y’all would do if you were in my shoes. TIA!
My wife said the exact same things…1) whatever you do, do not get rid of the Shelby. 2) Lexus is a dime a dozen and the Shelby would be much harder to replace if I got rid of it and wanted that experience back.Sounds like all good advice, and you're likely keeping the GT350. Just adding another vote to keep the GT350.
The IS350 is just your commuter, but it's also a dime-a-dozen entry/compact that doesn’t do anything special. You may find it super comfy, but my wife swears my RR is more comfy than her E Class, if that means anything. Once you get the RR, you'll never drive the IS350.
My wife and I had a similar situation, except we laid the option for her to choose "sedan vs SUV/CUV" for her car, as the primary family comfort transport vehicle. With kids being older without needing toddler amenities and closer Benz dealer, she opted mid-size sedan over GLE. Our out-going was a Macan GTS and a beater Edge she purposely chose to get thru the toddler years.
You may only take the GT350 out on occasion, but it's your adult Hot Wheel/Go Cart... the joy isn't all about the # of miles you put on it per year. My 911 going away was never an option, and that was my wife's statement at the beginning.
Not joking. My wife and I both swear the RR is more comfortable than her E, and I'm certain the E has to be smoother if not the same as the IS. The RR gets 15 mpg at best, so if that's a remote concern, I may question if it means finances aren't in full order. If that resonates at all ... with a baby on the way, and the IS350 being so new, I would earnestly advise hold off on the RR, and wait for your child to come and dust to settle. The RR is a fun truck and all, but it didn't bring anything ground-breaking into my life.My wife said the exact same things…1) whatever you do, do not get rid of the Shelby. 2) Lexus is a dime a dozen and the Shelby would be much harder to replace if I got rid of it and wanted that experience back.
A Ranger Raptor and GT350 garage would be pretty sick. Now I’m worried that the comfort of the Lexus would ruin the RR for me. Not sure that it would be as comfortable and the gas mileage would be 10 mpg less than the Lexus. Here I go again trying to talk myself out of it haha
The mpg is not much of a concern in relation to money but rather the fuel tank size. I commute 40 miles per day and sometimes more which means I’d be at the gas station a lot. It’s not a deal breaker but a point of frustration. I must admit that sometimes I get fixed on the mpg like I’m trying to climb an arcade leaderboard. Which is odd because when the Shelby is rolling I don’t even look at that. I guess it’s all relative to the context and if I were driving the RR I wouldn’t care either but I could see myself getting frustrated with a 270-300 range. Not joking. It's awesome, as long as your expectation is a mid-size pickup truck. I drove Tacomas daily for nearly 20 years and will always have a pickup. The mpg is not much of a concern in relation to money but rather the fuel tank size. You seem like you’ve got some refined automotive taste…how does the RR stack up? Obviously it’s not meant for luxury but does it hold its own? How’s your reliability and overall experience been?
You’ll regret letting the Shelby go….I would love to have all three but I’m not sure I could manage that financially or if it would be wise.

Took my RRaptor 7 months to be built after I ordered it. If your dealer doesn't truly have an allocation, move on because they aren't getting one built for them. Thanks! I just hope the Shelby treats me well and no unexpected repairs come forth.
