I had the same loss of power everyone is mentioning when turning right from a stop in the 2021 ranger that I just traded. Only lasted a few seconds and it was not frequent, maybe about a dozen times in three years, so I never informed the dealer at service. My 2025 with the 2.7 has not done it yet, only have 500 miles on the odometer.

This has happened to me twice now, once turning in each direction.

I rounded a 90 degree right-hand corner without having to stop (the light was green for me) and the truck lost all power for (a very long) 1-2 seconds. The accelerator pedal didn’t respond. The truck just coasted. Then, just as suddenly, the pedal responded and off we went.

Yesterday I turned a left corner from one road onto another (no stop sign) and the truck didn't respond to me pressing the accelerator pedal. No “Check Engine” light, no errors, nothing. Then it took off after a couple of seconds like nothing was wrong. The same thing happened tonight but while turning right so it’s not direction dependent.

Of course I cannot make it happen at will, it’s just totally random.

The truck has under 1000 miles (7xx) on it. Gas level was ~2/3 of a tank of Exxon 87 octane. Outside temp was in the 60s and the truck was fully warmed up In both cases.

Any ideas? I’ll be calling the dealer tomorrow.
what did the dealer tell you?

This has started to have this happen for me as well. 2025 with the 2.7. Truck has ~5000 now and I didn't have any issues until the past couple weeks. I've had this happen twice, seems to be random. I glide through a turn and when I go to accelerate nothing happens for like 2-3 seconds and then the transmission catches. I am planning to take it to the dealer, but I'm sure they won't do anything except maybe reset it. Looks like this issue has been posted on the highway safety website at least once. I'd encourage anyone with the issue to put in a report. Unless the dealer finds a solution I will be doing the same myself.

did you take it to the dealer?

I am taking it this week. No codes and does it randomly so I don’t expect they’ll do anything other than try a software reset but we’ll see
keep us posted please

I took my truck in and was told the vehicle was driving as it should and there were no codes.

I haven’t had it happen again, but I will probably post a complaint on the highway safety site.

Only thing I have noticed is that if you push lightly on the accelerator then there is more hesitation/weird shifting. If I push more aggressively then it seems to find the right gear better. Not sure. Anyone else notice a difference depending on their driving style?

I've had this happen several times as well. 2.7L V6 here. After rounding the corner the accellerator is dead for 1-2 seconds. Very disconcerting. I can't duplicate either. Dealer service dept shrugged their shoulders.
It was not in wheel slip, no traction control light no downshifting that I could detect. Just dead accellerator pedal.

Hello,
My 2024 Ranger is doing the same thing everyone here has reported. I just got my truck back from the dealership after 3 days. Luckily during the technician's test drive the truck lost power twice. With that said, they couldn't figure out what the problem is, no codes thrown and I quote, we can't just start replacing everything. The service advisor was sympathetic but that doesn't really help. I asked for the service manager, but he had left for the day, I will be calling tomorrow.

I noticed someone mentioned traction control could be the issue. Please let me know if there are any other things I should mention to the dealership tomorrow.

Thanks, Jacqui

PS I reported the issue to NHTSA thanks for providing the link to do so.

Same 24 XLT, with tech and adaptive cruise package.

This has happened to me a few times, and the service rep at the dealership also just shrugged because no codes and they couldn't replicate it. :headbang:

They also told me my obviously crooked tailgate isn't adjustable and is fine.

Anyway, each time I was making a sharp turn at decent speed (but not fast enough for wheel slip or out of the ordinary body roll) and there was a car in front of me waiting to turn, as in, if I had continued straight I would have T boned them.

My guess is the vehicle/collision detection is kicking in until it senses there isn't a vehicle in front anymore, without any of the other lights or sounds.

It's the same kind of power killing that happens when I'm on adaptive cruise and a vehicle merges into my lane way ahead of the follow distance I set.

Just happened again on my truck. Same place, same turn. It has nothing to do with transmission, wheel slip, etc. The accellerator just goes dead for a few seconds, no RPM increase, no shifting either. In my case I'm going slightly downhill, making a quick rolling left turn transitioning into an immediate uphill. I need to accellerate to make the uphill and there is nothing there. I make this quick left as there is an oncoming hill with fast heavy traffic.

New here...
My 2024 Ranger has RPM issues as well. The RPM's would not decrease after letting go of throttle. Brought it in and they told me there was some sort of "memory" that is being stored and I could reset it. It did work but after time it does come back. On my next check up I will get it looked at again.
WRT to stalling. it has happened to me twice. The latest was yesterday turning right. Not sure what direction my first one was but ya full loss of power for a coupe of seconds.. could be dangerous if oncoming traffic is coming for sure. I do recall that both instances occurred when I had less that a half tank of gas.. I thought maybe it was lack of fuel when turning a corner.
From what I have read here there does not seem to be a solution. Is that correct?
