Anything to back that up? I see people doing scientific tests with no data behind the impact of their results and speculation but I’ve still never seen a single real world issue with them. There are tons of people with oil filters on vehicles with hundreds of thousands of miles in them with no issues. We have a couple farm trucks with oil filters that have 300k miles and they are still going strong. My grandfather used to get them just so he didn’t have to buy new ones all the time. My last three vehicles had them, one of them was a truck I put 100k miles on, again using it on a farm, and I never had a single issue and it helped my mileage a bit. The only issue I ever had with one was when I had a WRX you’d want to clean off the MAF sensor every 10-20k miles, which took all of 30 seconds. If you plan on keeping your Ranger for the long run don't use an oil feed filter.
Go to their website and see if they give specs on the filter media. (They try to hide it as much as they can)Anything to back that up? I know S&B does and the oiled gauze type actually filters less dirt than OEM and the dry filter type filters slightly better than OEM.
So basically you are sucking in more dirt than stock if you take it offroad.

Lol, if more dirt gets through to your piston rings, cylinder walls and so you should be able to understand that is not good for your engine. Writing is on the wall, you just have to be able to read and comprehend the data. Nobody is going to study an airfilter for 20 yrs to prove that.Exactly what I was saying. What is the impact of that? No data to show any negative impact of that, but tons of data showing (from people over decades) saying that it makes no difference. It's not going to impact anything, you're just going to feel better. I get it, some people like peace of mind. But saying it's going to negatively impact the vehicle is bullshit. If I told you you could buy a more restrictive filter that would cut your power more and filter 99.9% would you buy that? IRL it's not going to have negative consequences.
I don’t think you actually read my post you responded to. These trucks are literally designed to last ~350k miles and then be scrapped. Most won't even hit 200k. Thinking .5% difference in filtering is going to make or break the longevity of the car enough for you to worry and preach about it online to strangers is up there with covering your walls with tinfoil to keep the 5g from giving you cancer.Lol, if more dirt gets through to your piston rings, cylinder walls and so you should be able to understand that is not good for your engine. Are you running the stock IC or an upgraded one? Also guessing you have a ‘24 model so no CEL to worry about?I saw this, I don't think it would be any different than running the S&B without the acrylic lid. My S&B sounds amazing with the side panel off. The intake temps are higher but the aircharge temps are no different to before.
Yeah I’ve just got the stock intercooler at the moment and my active shutters seem to stay closed all the time which doesn’t help. Mines an early 2023 so no CELAre you running the stock IC or an upgraded one? Also guessing you have a ‘24 model so no CEL to worry about?
