Sound deadening the doors was totally worth the time.

Do you need to do 2 layers like the video or would just the 3 in 1 work, seems like overkill?
I used a single layer of NVX (better dampener for the money). It's all about where you put it, not exactly how much. Two layers reduces vibrations a fraction more than the single layer, so it's way overkill for everything except a competition vehicle. You're better off with covering the outer skin as close to completely as possible, inner skin with larger pieces in strategic places, and the door card itself with a layer of 1/2"-1" of insulation like the fiber mat mentioned above, or 3m thinsulate like you'd use in a camper van.

I would like to do this to doors, rear wall and floor, but I am not yet ready to accept all the extra weight, the standard butyl sheets are about 15 pounds for 36 sq ft, about enough for a single layer on the doors.... How much weight have you guys added with this mod? My RR has a pretty low payload to start with, I don't like to add extra pounds. FYI I am hard of hearing, I tend to just turn down the volume of my hearing aids on road trips, plus I don't actually listen to much music.... ;)

I think I used a full 36sqft for the doors. And maybe 18sqft for the roof and rear bulkhead and under the back seat. I'll use another 4-8sqft deadening the front wheel wells when I get around to it to help with tire noise. That's more insulation than cld, though.

One package weighs 6.8 pounds, I’ll be using three, so a total weight increase of 20.4 pounds and total cost of about $75.

Would any of you fine folks please tell me how much material (sq. ft.) I will need to do just the 4-doors. In addition, which product do you recommend for just a single layer? I watched the video with a 2-layer application, but just can't convince myself that I need 2 layers.

I am considering the Siless 3 in 1 product, in 1 layer it seems a good balance but have the same questions.

That's what I used, works great. This one also has a mylar backing (instead of metal) so it's easier to cut and doesn't shred your hands.

I think you could do all four doors with one box. The sheets are large and I think I used 3 in each front door and 2 in each back door.

Yup. That's the stuff I'm leaning towards too. I'm likely to start with a single order of 25 sq. ft. and if I need more....I'll get more. Afterall, it's not a race for goodness sake. Oh yea......hey Alex in Colorado Springs....I'm Donnie B in Woodland Park.
Hey Donnie nice to meet you, From what i can tell 36 Sqft is what you need for 4 doors but i think that depends on how detailed you get about covering every sq inch of the door.

Thanks Nate. Nice to see another CO boy on this thread. Hey Alex.....If we both get one box, would you like to split another box giving us both a little over 37 sq. ft. each? Send me a PM if you are game.

The aluminum backing is to constrain the butyl layer.

Check this one from VehicleNanny. Great bit of info and instruction.

Get the NVX 90mil. It's better than the Siless stuff by a good margin.
? The Siless 3 in 1 is a completely different thing than the NVX 90mil. The Siless 3 in 1 is 200mil with 3 layers including an actual sound dampening layer along with the sound deadening layer and foam layer. The foam/dampening material specifically is what I believe helped reduce the boomyness of the speakers. The NVX 90 is only the deadening layer which just reduces resonance/vibration. You can use the 3 in 1 by itself or you can use it along with a layer of NVX or whatever you prefer. It works well by itself, but like I said I did use an extra layer of deadening directly behind the speakers. A lot of people use a deadening layer and sound proofing foam onto of that. But if you were only getting 1 and wanting to save weight and not go crazy with it the 3 in 1 works very well.
