Anyone know where I can get a cheap set of black 18 inch steel winter wheels for my 2025 Ranger XLT with Black Appearance package? I didn't realize 18 inch wheels and winter tires were so hard to find. I talked to the parts department at the ford dealer and all they had were alloys and I don't want to spend that much. They also said if I got 17 inch tires I have to recalibrate everything so my speedometer is accurate. No clue how much of a pain in the butt that is.

And they won't start rusting 5 minutes after installation like the cheap winter wheels will.

and if you have stock 18s, you can go to stock 17s and not have to recalibrate the speedo. the tires are the same diameter with just hte sidewall and rim diameter different.

i have stock 17s and 18s and swap them as i feel fit.

You will also need four TPMS senders, I do not know if the Ford ones for alloys will work on steelies.

I found a set of five like new Bronco 17”x8” alloy takeoffs with Pony center caps and TPMS for $650 on my local Craigslist. Or look for remanufactured wheel sellers - Google “OEM reman wheels” - most dealers ship their takeoffs to a handful of online companies that resell them, WAY cheaper than dealer prices…..

I disagree that black steelies look badass. To me they make you look like a cheapskate…. ;).

Your Ford parts guy is a moron, but that should not come as much of a surprise. Just make sure the snow tire you choose has an overall diameter that is very close to your stock 18” tires. The tire store sales guy can help with that, and he actually knows about what you are discussing.

They are wrong 👍🏻
You only have to recalibrate if the overall tire diameter changes; just swapping "stock-for-stock" (or close enough) size-wise will completely solve that problem before it even comes up.

Thanks all for helping sniff out the Dealership's bull crap. I'm going to dig a little deeper into this.

I found these on Ford's site that are 17's that come with TPMS sensors and I have some Ford Points that would bring them down to $500 bucks. It looks like they are compatible with the 2025 Ranger

https://www.ford.com/product/20192025-ranger-17x85-dyno-gray-wheel-kit-p2947041872

Having a hard time finding cheaper steel wheels than that. Only issue is the spoke pattern probably lets a lot of salt spray into the wheel wells and on the brakes.

I also used the tire converter site and it looks like 265/70R17 is the equivalent tire for a 17in wheel.

I'm in a small market so I doubt I'll find Bronco take off wheels local.

If you do want the steel wheels (and I personally do think they look really bad ass, thank you John), they can be found pretty cheap: https://www.wheelership.com/brand-n...jW2h9ECJ30tIMrOmPxPxohYQNt5lq13rtFJNpdzWD5ZNF

$97 per wheel with free shipping to your front door. Go to your local Discount Tire for mount, balance and TPMS install.
I think they look pretty bad ass too. Have you ordered from that site before? I am completely new to buying truck parts online so I have no clue what reputable sites I should be looking at. Also no discount tire anywhere close to me. I think we have a tire warehouse and town fair or something.

I haven't, they were just the first place that came up when I googled them. So do your own homework and use a credit card to order in case you need to charge anything back. I've used Tire Warehouse back when I lived up in that part of the country and I'm sure they could do the mount/balance for not too much.
